THE NIGHT went by quickly and it was filled with different emotions from the two. Matapos magyakapan ng dalawa, sabay silang nagtampisaw sa ulan na parang mga bata.
Not caring that they are already in their mid 20's, Zean and Matthew played at the park under the pouring rain. They would chase each other, and then would embrace each other to provide their bodies some warmth, and then minutes later, they'd be back to chasing each other again.
Takbo. Habol. Yakap. Takbo. Habol. Yakap. Iyon ang nangyari sa kanilang dalawa. They were so happy. Not caring about the people who are looking at them during that time. Ang importante lang sa dalawa, masaya sila.
They were genuinely happy.
Anong oras na nang umuwi ang dalawa at basang-basa sila kaya naman pagkatapos nung gabi na 'yon, matinding lagnat ang inabot ng binata. Dalawang araw na ang lumipas simula noong nagtampisaw sila ni Zean sa ulan at dalawang araw na ring hindi humuhupa ang lagnat ng binata.
He laid on his bed with a discomfort feeling. He felt sore all over his body. He felt weak and he can feel the heat in his body rising up.
He tried to go to out but he ended up getting scolded by both of his parents. He was burning up so he had no choice than to rest while his parents called the university to inform them the reason of his absence.
Ayaw nya mang manatili sa bahay nila, wala syang magawa nang pagsabihan sya ng ina nya kaya naman nanghihina at malungkot syang nagtipa ng mensahe.

After tapping the send button, Matthew put back his phone on his bedside table. He felt so weak and tired that the moment he closed his eyes, he immediately fell into a deep sleep.
Hours have pass yet Matthew remained asleep. Medyo nagising lamang ang diwa nya nang makaramdam sya ng matinding lamig kaya naman nanginginig nyang niyakap ang sariling katawan at mas lalong isiniksik ang sarili sa loob ng comforter.
His face furrowed while his eyes are still closed before he shifted his position and laid on his back. He was planning to go back to sleep when a familiar scent hit his nostrils.
Nang maamoy iyon, kahit nanghihina, mabilis na naimulat ng binata ang mga mata nya at kaagad na hinanap ang may-ari nito.
"Akihiro.."
The scent came from Zean. She was sitting in a chair a few inches away beside his bed. When she received the message from him, she immediately went to their house to see him.
Naabutan nya pa ang pamilya ni Matthew at laking pasasalamat naman ng mga magulang nito nang dumating sya. They were so worried about his condition that they couldn't leave him behind but they also can't miss their board meeting kaya naman napanatag sila nang makita si Zean.
Zean stared at him for a whole minute before a soft smile appeared on her lips. Matamis itong ngumiti sa kanya bago ito dumukwang para hawiin ang buhok ni Matthew na magulo pa dahil sa pagtulog.
"Hi.." she whispered to him.
Ipinalibot ni Matthew ang paningin sa buong kwarto, "H-How—bakit ka nandito?" tanong nito sa mahinang boses.
"I'm worried." simpleng sagot ng dalaga at naramdaman naman nang binata na sumikdo ang puso nya.
He reached out to her hand, "Ilang oras ka nang nandito?"
