It was the weekend and Rachel needed to speak to Chloe about a phonecall she had received yesterday but her phone was switched off "why isn't she answering?" Eddie sighed "go and speak to her face to face Rach, it'll be best" Rachel nodded "you're right, I'll go after lunch" Eddie smiled "shall I come with you?" Rachel shook her head "this is gonna be hard telling Chloe as it is without anyone else being there" Eddie nodded "haven't the police tried to contact her?" Rachel sighed "as I'm her mother they needed to inform me" Eddie again nodded.

Rachel pulled upside Max's and noticed he was there, sighing to herself she got out the car and walked up the path. Knocking the door she smiled when she Aubree squealing, Rachel didn't know weather to smile or frown when Max answered "Rachel, what can I do for you?" Rachel sighed "I need to speak with Chloe" Max nodded "come in" Rachel entered the house "Chloe's in bed, I'll go get her" Rachel frowned "why is she in bed?" "She had a headache" Rachel nodded as Max walked upstairs "nana" Rachel smiled at Aubree.

Chloe lay in bed but she wasn't asleep, Max walked in "your mother needs to speak with you" Chloe frowned "where is she?" "Downstairs" Chloe groaned but got out of bed "why is she here?" Max shrugged. Chloe went downstairs "mum, what's this about?" Rachel sighed "I received a phonecall last night" Chloe frowned "what about?" Rachel looked at Chloe "the man who attacked you has been released from prison" Chloe frowned "he's been released?" Rachel nodded "yes love" Chloe scoffed "wow, I have so much faith in the system" Rachel sighed "Chloe, I'm here for you" Chloe nodded "okay".

Rachel had gone so Max took Aubree to bed while Chloe sat on the sofa. When Max came back down Chloe was doing homework "are you alright?" Chloe nodded "yeah, he was always going to be released" Max took the paper from Chloe and sat with her on the sofa "take tomorrow from school" Chloe sighed "no, it'll take my mind off this" Max smirked "I can help take your mind off this" Chloe looked at him "oh yeah, how?" Max started kissing her and took her upstairs.

*The Next Morning*

Arriving at school Chloe took Aubree to the creche and went to meet with Charlotte "hey" Chloe smiled "hiya" Charlotte looked at her "did your mum tell you?" Chloe nodded "yeah, I have so little faith in the justice system" Charlotte sadly smiled "I doubt the sicko will turn up in Scotland" Chloe shrugged "I couldn't care less if he did" Charlotte smiled "everythings gonna be fine".

Max was worrying about Chloe, he knew hearing that the person who attacked her had been released would no doubt affect her he didn't want her back on the alcohol. While sitting in the office he was in deep thought and he didn't notice Chris walk in "have you seen Chloe?" Max frowned "no, why?" Chris sighed "according to Sian she didn't turn up for registration" Max nodded "I'll go and look for her" Chris spoke again 'is everything alright with her?" Max sighed "the person who raped her has been released from prison" Chris was shocked "does Chloe know?" Max nodded "Rachel came over last night and told her" Chris sighed "poor kid" Max stood "I'll go look for Chloe".

Chloe was sitting on the bench outside when Max came over "you have had people worried" Chloe sighed "they don't need to be, I'm fine" Max looked at her "Chloe, people do care for you" Chloe smiled "I know, I'm fine though" Max nodded "you should head to registration" Chloe rolled her eyes "I don't want too" Max sighed "why don't you get Aubree and go home?" Chloe shook her head "no, I'll be fine" Max took her hand "Chloe, you're not fine" Chloe stood "you need to understand. I'm perfectly fine" Chloe tried to walk away when Max pulled her back to him "if you want to go then tell me" Chloe nodded.

It was lunchtime and Chloe wasn't feeling herself "are you okay? You've been distant all day" Chloe sighed "today is going incredibly slow and I just wanna go home" Charlotte smiled "I think you should" Chloe looked at her "will you come with?" Charlotte nodded "course" Chloe stood with Charlotte and they went to Max's office "problem girls?" Chloe sighed "you were right, I'm not fine" Max looked at her "I'm assuming you want to leave?" Chloe nodded "yeah, and I'm hoping Charlotte can come" Max nodded "that's fine".

Arriving back at Max's Chloe took Aubree upstairs as she was asleep and Charlotte left Taitlyn in her pushchair "drink?" Charlotte smiled and nodded so Chloe made them both hot chocolate. When Chloe made the drinks she sat with Charlotte on the sofa "how are things going with Michael?" Charlotte smiled "they're good. Did I mention that Tom arrived at the restaurant with his girlfriend?" Chloe shook her head "no, you didn't. What happened?" Charlotte sighed "he thought I was trying to make him jealous" Chloe frowned "did he say that?" Charlotte nodded "yeah".

A couple of hours later Charlotte left to go home so Chloe sat on the sofa with Aubree under the fleece blanket. When Max returned Aubree was cuddled up with Chloe "are you alright?" Chloe nodded "yeah" Aubree was dozing off again "hey you, wake up" Aubree pouted "mama no" Chloe smiled "yeah".

Once Chloe put Aubree to bed she text Charlotte -

*Chloe - how's things? Xo

*Lottie - they're all good, how are you? Xo

*Chloe - okay I suppose. What u doing? Xo

*Lottie - having an early night Xo

*Chloe - awh okay. I'll c u 2mrro Xo

*Lottie - Okay. Night xo

Chloe didn't reply, instead she went downstairs to Max "what you doing?" Max looked up "there's an open-day next week" Chloe groaned "talk about trying to throwing the school open" Max smirked. A few hours later Chloe got tired so she went up to bed leaving Max downstairs, she fell asleep as soon as she climbed into the bed.
