Adam turned his back to the girls and Chloe looked at Charlotte "I'm gonna get the gun" Charlotte frowned "Chloe no!" It was too late Chloe went for the gun resulting in a struggle and then... BANG! The gun went off

Chloe turned to Charlotte who had paled and she noticed the blood and she watched in horror as Charlotte fell to the floor "NO!" Chloe rushed over to Charlotte's body and took her jacket off placing it against the wound.

Everyone was frozen as the gun went off and the police stormed the building. Chloe was trying to keep Charlotte awake "come on, stay with me, Taitlyn needs you, Aubree needs you, Eddie needs you I need you" Adam was stood with a smirk on his face "tut tut, shes a pretty girl aswell" Chloe glared "shut up!" Adam was about to speak when the door opened and the police came in, "get down on your knees. An officer took Chloe out of the room just as a paramedic came in to help Charlotte "where's my baby?" Chloe sighed in relief when Aubree was brought out with Taitlyn.

The school was stood outside waiting in anticipation to see who had been shot. When the doors opened Adam was brought out. Chloe was stood outside the classroom shaking.

Eddie and Rachel were panicking and all they wanted was to see their daughters. Chloe had been taken to the Pastoral care office as she needed to give a statement to the police.  An officer had agreed to take Aubree out.to Max or Rachel. Once satisfied Chloe was Okay the interview began

Officer - Okay Chloe. Can you explain how you managed to end up in the classroom with Adam Fleet?

Chloe - me and Charlotte were going to take our daughters for a walk as it was breaktime and he came out the classroom.

Officer - why did Adam want you in the classroom?

Chloe - since the day I had given birth too Aubree, Adam has been obsessed with her. He hit me the once because I refused to leave my baby with him.

Officer - What happened in the events leading up to Miss.Lawson getting shot?

Chloe - I wanted to get the gun because my baby girl was in there so when he turned his back I went for the gun but he was trying to stop me taking it. There was a struggle and the gun went off. This is all my fault! I'm the reason she got shot.

Officer - This isn't your fault Chloe, you were trying to protect your daughter.

Chloe - Yes it is my fault! I shouldn't have gone for the gun!

Officer - Okay, that's the interview over. What you did was very brave, risking your life to protect yours and your friends children.

Chloe left the office just as Max came towards her "where's Aubree?" Max sighed "Rachel's taken her home" Chloe nodded "oh" Max took Chloe's hand and took her to his office "are you okay?" Chloe shrugged "I don't know" Max pulled her towards him "what happened?" Chloe sighed "me and Charlotte were taking Aubree and Taitlyn for a walk and then he came out the classroom with the gun and he said he wanted Aubree, I tried to get the gun but he tried to  stop me and then the gun went off".

Eddie was at the hospital but it wasn't looking good, Charlotte had been taken for surgery to remove the bullet.

Chloe sat on the sofa at home with Max and Rachel had offered to have Aubree that night "I need to know if Charlotte's okay" Max watched as Chloe got her phone -

(Phonecall)

Chloe - mum, has there been any news?

Rachel - not yet love. The minute I hear anything I'll let you know.

Chloe - Okay, hows Aubree?

Rachel - she's fine, bit shaken up, following me everywhere.

Chloe - I should come and pick her up.

Rachel - Chloe, she'll be okay, school is closed for the next couple of days so I'll drop her off tomorrow.

Chloe - Okay, I'll see you later.

Rachel - bye love

(Phonecall)

Chloe hung up and the tears came "Chloe?" Chloe looked at Max "Aubree, she's scared and following my mum around" Max sighed "she'll be okay, she's like you" Chloe smiled through her tears.

Eddie was still waiting for news on Charlotte and the nurse came out "Mr.Lawson?" Eddie stood "is my daughter okay?" The nurse smiled "the surgery went well but your daughter has lost a lot of blood so she needs a transfusion" Eddie sighed "is she gonna be okay?" the nurse sighed "It's touch and go".

Chloe was still sitting on the sofa when she received a text from her mum -

Mum - Charlotte's out of surgery but its touch and go, Aubree's fallen asleep. xx

Chloe didn't reply, she turned her off and walked out into the garden not caring that it was raining. Max saw Chloe out in the rain so he grabbed his coat and went outside after her "Chloe, you shouldn't be out here" Chloe turned to him "this is all my fault! Charlotte wouldn't have gotten shot if it wasn't for me" Max sighed and took Chloe's hand pulling her into the house "this isn't your fault" Chloe nodded "yeah it is, it was me who tried to get the gun from him therefore it was me who caused her to get shot and" Chloe couldn't finish speaking as Max started kissing her and she kissed back, he took her upstair, pushing her on the bed.

A couple of hours later Chloe lay in bed with Max and she logged onto her facebook account -

Chloe 'AubreeLeigh' Mason - Want my bestie too get better soon! I'm so sorry :( xoxo.

Logging off Chloe looked at Max who was sitting up "are you alright?" Chloe nodded "yeah, I'm fine" Max nodded "good" Chloe sighed "did that just happen because you were trying to take my mind off things?" Max smirked "did it work?" Chloe shrugged "maybe" Max kissed her and they fell asleep.
