"Hey—you should come to my house."

Younghoon looked up from the backpack he was trying to pack up to see Chanhee lingering in front of him, a soft smile resting on his lips. "Any specific reason?" He asked before he zipped up his bag, slinging it over his shoulder as him and Chanhee left their sixth hour together.

Looking up at the elder, Chanhee only shrugged before saying, "it's a surprise."

"Good enough for me," Younghoon started as they made it Chanhee's car, "Y'know it would be a lot easier to carpool or something because we go to the same place almost every day after school."

"That would make thing easier, wouldn't it?" Chanhee pondered, "Well I guess I'll see you at my house then."

✨✨✨

"Can you tell me what we're doing yet?" Younghoon asked as Chanhee led him through his house, their hands interlocked in between them.

After opening his bedroom door and walking inside to grab his car keys laying on his bed, Chanhee quickly turned back around. "No," he said simply and continued to drag Younghoon the way they just came.

"What are you doing?"

"We have to go get something from the store then I'll tell you."

"Ok—fine."

Just before they could leave, Chanhee found his mother in the living room and asked, "Can me and Younghoon go to the store real quick?"

Looking up from the scarf she was knitting, the woman glanced down at their hands and smiled. "Sure...drive safe," she answered quietly, trying to hide the smile forming on her lips.

"Okay—let's go!" Chanhee whispered excitedly before running out the front door and to his car, Younghoon only a few steps behind him.

"Should I be nervous about...whatever this is?" Younghoon asked as he climbed into the passenger side of Chanhee's car, stretching the seat belt over his body while he waited for a response.

The car fell silent for a few moments, Chanhee needing his full attention on backing out of the driveway safely. Once they were on the road he finally answered, "No, it's fun, I promise—fun for me at least."

The elder only sighed at his words and turned to look out the window, watching the houses as they drove post them. The ride was ultimately quiet, the two of them not having anything too important to talk about.

"We're here~" Chanhee sang, the car stopping in front of a small drug store only a few minutes from his house.

A small hum came out of Younghoon before he raised an eyebrow and muttered, "I'm even more confused now..."

The two got out of the car and walked into the store, Younghoon following Chanhee through the aisles as he still had no idea why they were even there. When they were surrounded by all sorts of hair care products Chanhee stopped gesturing to all of the boxes of hair dye in front of him. "I want you to pick what color to dye my hair next," the boy stated excitedly.

A smile flickered across Younghoon's lips before he glanced around, overwhelmed by all the different colors and brands. "Are you sure?" He urged, not wanting to be liable for Chanhee hating his hair.

"Yeah I'm sure," the boy responded, a reassuring smile resting on his lips.

Younghoon hummed once again, crouching down to get a better look at the words on the boxes. "Is there a certain one you usually use?" He asked quietly.

Pointing to a familiar pink colored box, Chanhee explained, "this is the one I used last time...I think it was pretty good."

"Chanhee...you'll tell me if you hate the color, right?"

"Younghoon, I don't care what color you pick...unless it's like green or something because then I'll care a little bit."

"I'm not going to pick green," the elder muttered as he walked a little further down the aisle, studying all the different variations of colors. Never in his life had he realized just how many different versions there were of one color. He couldn't just pick anything like just pink, it had to have a specific shade and a fancy name.  After walking back and forth a few times, Younghoon finally grabbed a box, holding it behind his back as he turned to Chanhee.

"What did you pick?"

Pulling the box out from behind his back, Younghoon handed the light blue hair dye to the younger with a smile. "I think this one will look really cute on you," he explained as the two set off towards the check out.

"I never would've thought to do blue...but I love it."

✨✨✨

"I just...put it on there?"

Chanhee looked up at Younghoon blankly before letting out another sigh. "Yes, Younghoon," he spoke for the tenth time, "you just put the dye on my hair." Grabbing the elders hand, Chanhee guided it up to his head, pressing the small brush against his hair.

Reluctantly, he began to paint over the pale pink, watching as it became a blue hue. "What do you do after this?"

"You let it sit and then rinse it out."

"Don't move..." Younghoon whined when Chanhee's head moved to the side ever so gently as he spoke. He grabbed the younger's chin with his free hand, holding him in place, "I don't want to mess this up."

A smile broke out across Chanhee's face as he tried his hardest not to laugh at how serious Younghoon seemed to be. Although he so vehemently told Chanhee not to move, the boy pushed himself forward, trying to peck the elder's lips but failing.

"Chanhee," Younghoon hissed as he listened to the younger's unstoppable laughter, "I am almost done."

Pouting at Younghoon's sudden distaste for fun, Chanhee sat still, letting the elder finish his putting the dye in his hair.

"Ok..." he hummed at last as he turned Chanhee's head from side to side to make sure he didn't miss any spots, "I'm done."

"Now we wait...exciting isn't it?" Chanhee joked, turning around from where he was seated on the bathroom counter to look at himself in the mirror, "it looks so good—thank you Younghoon."

"Chanhee."

"Wha—"

Just as the younger turned back around to look at the boy, Younghoon leaned forward and finally gave him the kiss he tried to steal earlier. Chanhee leaned into the the kiss, feeling Younghoon hand find it's way to the back of his head.

"Shit!" Younghoon hissed, pulling away from the boy and holding out his blue hand as Chanhee broke into a fit of giggles.
