Chanhee looked up from the homework he was doing when he heard a quiet knock on his door. "Come in!" He shouted.

His father opened the door and closed it behind him, walking over to sit on the edge of the bed. "Chanhee..." he started softly, "you'd never lie to me, right? Your dear father...you wouldn't lie to me?"

"No," the boy answered quickly, shaking his head as he closed the notebook in front of him, "why do you ask?"

The man cleared his throat awkwardly before starting, "I went to the grocery store for your mother today because she doesn't feel well...but I ran into Yeri's mother and I just wanted to say a quick thank you for letting you come over last weekend—but she said something really funny...something along the lines of he never came over."

Chanhee's eyes widened when he heard his words. He let out a nervous giggle and defended, "I'm over there all the time I'm sure she just got it mixed up with last weekend or something—Y'know how it is as a parent...things are...crazy."

He hummed, "things really are crazy as a parent..." there was a long pause before he folded his hands in his lap and calmly asked, "if you tell me the truth, we can keep this between us. Your mother—I'm sure she'll ban you from seeing anybody until you graduate."

"I went to Younghoon's!" Chanhee admitted. When it came to his dad, he was the worst liar in the world. All the man had to do was raise his eyebrow just the right way and Chanhee was telling him everything he'd ever done his whole life.

He sent Chanhee a confused look, "I thought you couldn't go over there because of his parents? I don't want you around Younghoon's dad—that guy gives me a bad feeling."

"Oh, his parents weren't home," Chanhee chirped, thinking in the moment that would help his case. He quickly slapped a hand over his mouth when he saw his father's face fall, "I...I—"

"You're eighteen..." the man whispered mostly to remind himself that Chanhee was in fact an adult, "I'm trying really hard not to be mad at you, Chanhee, but I'm also not an idiot...I know what that means." He let out a dramatic sigh when instead of denying the accusation, Chanhee's face only turned to guilt.

"I'm sorry I lied to you—but like you said...I'm eighteen," Chanhee defended, "most kids are having sex way before that, dad."

Closing his eyes, Chanhee's father took a deep breath and calmly said, "I'm not judging you...not one bit I'd never do that. I'm just worried about you being emotionally ready for something like that—you two have hardly been dating for a month. I'd hate to see you end up hurt."

"We've known each other a lot longer," Chanhee muttered softly, not knowing what he could say to make any of this better.

"I know neither of you can get pregnant...obviously, but it's still important you two use...protection, okay?" The man forced out, the words getting harder to speak with every passing moment.

The boy quickly nodded, just wanting to do whatever would end their conversation the fastest. "I know..." he whispered.

"Okay...if you ever find yourself in a situation where you don't...do thinks safely—I can bring you to—"

"Dad—I have a car and I'm an adult," Chanhee interrupted, "I really appreciate all of this, but I don't think I'd ever go to my dad to take me to go get tested—but again thank you."

The man let out a quiet, "mhm...mhm" as he nodded. "I think it's time for me to head out...I won't tell your mom about this...uhm Goodnight."

Chanhee awkwardly waved to his dad as the man hurried out of his room. A harsh breath came deep from Chanhee's lungs while he tried to wrap his head around what exactly just happened. Never in his life would he had expected his dad of all people would come make sure he was having safe sex.

Too distracted to finish any more homework, Chanhee reached out for his phone and quickly called Younghoon.

"Hi," Younghoon answered only after a few rings.

"Well I just talked to my dad and told him I was at your house last weekend and exactly what we did."

"Are you joking? I can't tell if you're joking because I can't see your face."

After a drawn out groan followed by a face plant into his pillows Chanhee muttered, "no. I'm not joking. Not one bit."

"We'll I think that's the end of me coming to your house now...your dad already hates me and now he knows I invited his son to my unsupervised house and seduced him."

"I won't dwell on the details of who exactly seduced who..." Chanhee muttered, "but he wasn't mad...like at all. I'm more mortified than anything that I just told my dad so much about our relationship."

There was a long pause before Younghoon panicked, "what if he was just faking nice and he was secretly thinking of all the ways he could kill me the next time I come over—what if he's driving to my house right now to crawl in my window and stab me?"

"He has work in the morning—I doubt it." Wanting to change the uncomfortable topic, Chanhee asked, "can you take me to get my nose pierced tomorrow?"

"You decided to get your nose pierced after I told you how bad it hurts?"

A quiet laugh echoed through the line, "Younghoon, you haven't gotten your nose pierced, how would you know if it hurts or not?"

"Because Sangyeon went with Eric to get his nose pierced last year and he said Eric cried for like an hour after."

"Maybe Eric just has a really low pain tolerance..." Chanhee muttered, "I'm sure it'll be fine—you have to hold my hand though just in case."

"Fine—I'll take you and hold your hand."
