"Yah! Kim Younghoon!"
Younghoon slowly looked up from his computer screen and unsurprisingly saw Yeri standing in front of him, a scowl resting on her lips. "Yes?" Asked the boy softly.
"Listen," she hissed before sitting down in the seat across from him. Glancing around the room, she leaned forward and continued, "I get that you and Chanhee are like...a thing but you can't spend every waking moment together. It's been close to a month now shouldn't you guys be over the honeymoon phase and onto only tolerating each other?"
A small smile danced across Younghoon's face as he laughed at Yeri's words, thinking she was only joking. That was until she raised an eyebrow and threw a hand up in the air. "What's so funny?!" She snapped.
"Oh—um well y'know, Yeri, you're more than welcome to come hang out with us too."
Yeri rolled her eyes, "Yeah right—like I'm going to go third wheel with my best friend and his fake boyfriend that I can't stand," she spat.
Pressing his lips together, Younghoon let out a hum before saying, "I think you don't actually hate me you're just jealous that there's somebody else Chanhee likes hanging out with now."
"Well obviously—but it's fun to hurt your feelings."
"You are an evil girl. An evil evil little witch girl."
The girl shrugged, "Yeah."
Poking around at Younghoon's belongings at the table, Yeri pretended to be deep in thought before suddenly asking, "uh...you're friends with that one guy...Sangyeon, right?"
"Yeah, we're pretty close, why?"
Yeri cleared her throat and pushed the pencil on the table in front of her back and forth a few times before answering, "I was just wondering if he's single or not."
A grin spread across Younghoon's lips as he heard the girl's words, "do you have a crush on my friend?"
"No. No I don't—ew."
"Then why are you asking."
"Because..."
Younghoon sent her a skeptical look and said, "but when I asked if Chanhee was single I apparently had a crush on him."
"Yeah, you do."
"You have a little crush on Sangyeon."
"Do not."
"Would it change anything if I told you that he was single?" Younghoon asked softly.
A small smile formed on Yeri's lips as she raised her eyes to meet Younghoon's, "It might...depends on if he has an crushes or anything right now."
"He hasn't told me about any recently."
Resting her chin on the palm of her hand, Yeri sighed, "I hate that I'm asking you for a favor...but could you talk to him for me? Please? I would talk to him myself but we don't have any classes and there's no way I'm going up to your dumb ass friends during lunch."
"No I get it. I wouldn't want to go stand in front of the whole basketball team either to talk to some guy you don't really know," Younghoon explained, "So...I'll talk to him for you. I'll see what I can do."
"Y'know I think I'm starting to dislike you a little less every day. Thank you, Younghoon."
✨✨✨
"Hey—are you busy?" Younghoon said quickly as he jogged up to his friend on the way out of the building.
A smile rested on Sangyeon's lips as he turned around, promptly shaking his head. "Not really, no."
"Are you hungry? Let's go get something to eat," Younghoon asked, both wanting to spend some time with his friend and needing to talk to him about Yeri.
"Yeah—sure," Sangyeon agreed happily.
After a long debate on who should drive, and Younghoon ultimately losing, the two arrived at a small restaurant. A smile formed on Younghoon's lips at the familiar sign. This was the place him and Sangyeon came to when they first started basketball, neither of them being too fond of the demanding sport at first.
"It's been so long since we've been here," Sangyeon muttered as the two sat down at one of the booths.
"Before we had any other friends," Younghoon muttered, trying not to dwell too hard on their embarrassing freshman selves.
A small laugh slipped out of Sangyeon before he nodded, "and when we both still had braces..."
"It's so weird this is our last year of high school...we're almost done."
"Yeah—but then we start college," Sangyeon groaned, "it just harder high school."
The two paused their conversations as their waiter came up to the table. After ordering their drinks and whatever they wanted to eat Younghoon decided to finally talk to the elder about Yeri. "So...I have this friend and she...wanted me to talk to you."
"About...?"
"She likes you."
A light blush tinted the elder's cheeks upon hearing his friend's words. "Who?" He asked softly, trying to hide the smile slowly spreading across his face.
"Yeri—do you know who she is?"
"Yeri as in Kim Yerim? The girl that's friends with Chanhee?"
Younghoon raised an eyebrow at the boy's words, expecting him to not know who he was talking about just by the way Yeri described their lack of contact. "Yeah her."
A small laugh slipped past Sangyeon's lips, a hand quickly flying to cover his mouth. "I'm sorry—she's just really pretty. I didn't expect that," once he recovered from the initial shock of such a stunning girl having a crush on him, Sangyeon asked, "Why didn't she just come talk to me? I'm not scary, am I?"
"No—she said the only time she sees you is at lunch and she didn't want to come talk to you in front of all the guys. Which I mean she's right about that because they can be assholes for no reason."
Listening to the younger's words carefully, he nodded in agreement. "I'm sure they would've said something to make her feel bad for putting herself out there—I know them. I'll go to her tomorrow at lunch. Do you know where she sits?"
"Oh...I think she sits by Chanhee somewhere in the back corner? I can come with you if you want to make things less awkward," Younghoon explained, pretending like he didn't know exactly where Chanhee sat at lunch.
"Oh would you? I'd hate to go over there and neither of us know what to say."
