"Where are you going? It's a Saturday morning—don't you think you should be practicing?"

Holding in the sigh that so desperately wanted to escape, Younghoon looked at his father standing in front of him and shrugged. "I got up early this morning to practice because I had plans with one of my friends," Younghoon explained.

"He did," his mother chimed I'm from the kitchen where she was sipping on a cup of coffee, "I saw him go out this morning."

"Who are you going out with?"

"Sangyeon," Younghoon lied, knowing if he told his parents who he was really going out with they might actually drop dead, "we're just going to hang out at his house."

His father scoffed before waving his son off, "I don't know why he can't come over here—but whatever. I expect you'll spend a couple more hours practicing tonight to make up for this."

"Yes, Sir, thank you," the boy answered quickly as he bowed to his father. Not wanting to linger too long and risk the man changing his mind, Younghoon turned to bow to his mother before hurrying out of the house.

The smile on Younghoon's face grew with every step he took towards his car, his heart swelling with excitement. He wasn't going to see Sangyeon, but instead going on that date he promised Chanhee. As he climbed in behind the steering wheel, instead of promptly starting the car, he pulled out his phone and sent a quick text to Chanhee.

✨✨✨

"Hi," Chanhee chirped as he peeked his head past one of Younghoon's car windows before throwing the backpack he had slung over his shoulder into the back seat. "I brought the blanket for us to sit on."

"I brought..." Younghoon paused to look around his car before concluding, "My car and myself."

"Perfect," Chanhee smiled, finally climbing into the passenger seat. "are we just going to the convenience store down there...or...?"

Just as the younger looked up at him after buckling his seatbelt, Younghoon lightly grabbed his chin, pulling the boy closer to him before connecting their lips. A surprised hum came out of Chanhee at the sudden action before he kissed back, his hand finding it's way to the side of Younghoon's head.

Feeling Younghoon's tongue swiping over his bottom lip, Chanhee quickly pulled away, his cheeks dusted a light pink. "Let's save that for another time when we're not in front of my house?" He asked softly, earning a quick nod from Younghoon.

"I think that's a good point—your dad would probably come strangle me if he saw us through the window."

"Oh you're too cute to strangle," Chanhee gushed as he reached out to pinch one of Younghoon's cheeks.

"I'm sure your dad wouldn't really feel the same way..." the elder mumbled as he started backing out of the driveway, deciding they had spent enough time flirting in a parked car.

Since neither of them were all too knowledgeable of picnic foods, they decided to just get some stuff from a convenience store on the way there. Lucky for them, there was a corner store only a couple minutes from Chanhee's house, the park not being too far beyond that.

✨✨✨

The picture Chanhee had in his head of a picnic date turned out to be a little different from reality. The park itself wasn't all too pretty, nothing but dying grass and an old twisted oak tree surrounding them. Although the blanket they laid out was cute enough, the plastic thank you grocery bags of snacks laid on the corners didn't exactly add the touch he was hoping for.

"Younghoon, this is really ugly..." Chanhee whispered as he sat down in the center of the blanket.

Pulling his phone out of his back pocket, Younghoon jogged a few steps away from the blanket and said, "You'll make it cute," as he pointed his camera toward the boy.

A small frown formed on the younger's face as he looked up at the camera, "Younghoon."

"Just smile," the elder urged happily as he leaned over his phone, sending the boy a smile of his own.

To make Younghoon happy, the grumpy boy forced a smile on his lips, giving him enough time to take a few pictures. After looking at the pictures—his favorite actually being the one where Chanhee wore a small pout on his lips—he skipped back over to the blanket and plopped down next to the boy.

Younghoon wrapped his arms around the boy's shoulders nuzzling his face into his neck, "this is what happens when we try to make our own date," he mumbled.

"I guess we're not too crafty..." Chanhee responded, a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips before he turned to press a light kiss to Younghoon's cheeks.

Doing his best to repress the childish giggle that wanted to escape at the feeling, Younghoon cleared his throat. "Y'know what you should do to your hair next? Have you ever done blonde?"

Chanhee watched as Younghoon lifted his head, promptly laying back down on the younger's lap. "I haven't—but I just dyed my hair barely two weeks ago," he said before bringing a hand up to Younghoon's jet black hair.

"I know...but I thought of that like right when I left your house—it would be so cute."

"You think so? It's pretty bold."

"I think it would be pretty...like a cute little fairy."

The younger's eyes narrowed as he looked down at the boy, "I feel like you're always finding some way to call me gay."

"...you are gay?"

"Yeah, but—" Chanhee cut himself off as he looked at a group of teenage boys across the park coming from the parking lot. He quickly grabbed Younghoon's discarded sweatshirt next to him and put it over the elder's face.

Younghoon tried to pull the piece of clothing from his face, but his hands were quickly swatted away, "Chanhee—what the hell?!"

"I think...your friends are here? I don't know if your friends with hyunjae, but him, Juyeon, and Haknyeon are here."

"Of course they have to come be annoying when I'm trying to be with you," the elder grumbled from under his sweatshirt.

"I think they're coming over here—I'm going to pretend to be on my phone," Chanhee whispered urgently as he used Younghoon's head as an armrest and opened his phone.

"Chanhee...?"
