Later, Stefan and Damon were still at the bar...

They sat at a table, and Stefan flipped beer lids into glasses. Damon had Callie sit on his lap.

"Drink up, brother." Stefan said.

Damon held up an empty bottle.

"Will you go get us another bottle of this?"

"Yes, sir." She said, standing up and walking away from them.

"You've been on this bunny diet for the better part of 50 years. So, how is it that Saint Stefan, of all people, gets good at a drinking game?"

"The bunny diet gave me a lot of time to practice. Wallow in despair. Drown in guilt. Regret my existence. It's precision born out of tragic boredom. Drink up, brother." Stefan says.

"All that effort wasted trying to tell you how boring you were... and now you finally agree with me?"

"Damon, you are worse than Ellie. Getting me drunk. Brotherly bonding. What? Do you think I'll break down, and you can pull me back from the edge?" Asked Stefan.

"I happen to like the edge, Stefan. Your problem is your inability to resist falling over it. You're all or nothing, man. You can't just be. Although, who am I to judge?"

Callie walked back over, passed a bottle on the table, and sat back down on Damon's lap.

Damon flipped one of the beer lids into the same glass.

"Drink up, brother."

Damon held out Callie's wrist.

Back with Rebekah, Ellie, and Elena...

Rebekah lay across Stefan's bed with one of his journals in her hands.

Ellie walked back into the room and saw Rebekah with Stefan's journal.

Ellie shakes her head, signs, and snatches the journal from her.

"Stop snooping, all right? Can't we just get on with the story?" Ellie asked.

Rebekah stood up, walked over to the table, and saw a picture frame of Stefan and Ellie smiling in the picture.

"Honestly, I don't get you two as a couple."

"Why would you? You don't know anything about us or him, for a matter of fact." Ellie mumbled, scoffing lightly.

"I know exactly who he is. He's a vampire. We're a predatory species, Ellie. We don't have time to care about humans and their silly lives."

"You really don't know anything about him. If you did, you'll know he really does care about Ellie."

"Is that why you did that runaway show earlier? Because you don't care about the homecoming dance? You know what? We're just gonna go

"Is that why you did that runaway show earlier? Because you don't care about the homecoming dance? You know what? We're just gonna go." Ellie says.

Elena and Ellie stood up and turned to walk out of Stefan's room.

"You haven't even heard half the story."

"And you're not going to tell it. You're just bored and looking for someone to push around. Find someone else to play with. Maybe you can even compel yourself a friend." Elena said.

"The necklace Stefan gave you... it wasn't his to give. It belonged to the Original Witch."

Elena smiled at Ellie and turned around.

"The one who put the hybrid curse on Klaus?" Ellie asked.

"Not just the hybrid curse. She's the one who turned us into vampires."

"
