Back with Stefan, he was down in the basement and standing in front of the freezer, which still held the blood bags he stole...

He grabbed one and squeezed it between his hands. He took the clip off, and Damon walked down.

"Clock's ticking. You gonna help me brainstorm a plan, or are you too busy fixing a snack?"

"We need to call Bonnie. There's gotta be a way for her to stop Esther from channeling that power." Stefan said.

"A, what if she's with Esther? B, what if she can't cut her off? C, I don't know how any of this works. D, neither do you."

"Got a better plan?" Stefan asked, looking at him.

"Worst-cast scenario, simple mechanics. Can't draw power from a dead battery."

"Kill them." Stefan said, looking away from the blood bag.

"If it comes to that."

Damon grabbed the blood bag from him and took a sip before handing it back to him. Damon watched him hold it but didn't take a sip.

"There's gotta be another way." Stefan tells him.

"What if I told you I had a less diabolical plan?"

Stefan saw him holding a dagger.

"You wanna dagger Elijah?" Stefan asked.

"They're all linked. One goes down, they all go down. The witches live. Ellie's safe. Problem solved."

"We don't know how that will affect Klaus." Said Stefan.

"Ironically, Klaus isn't our current problem."

"The dagger's lethal to any vampire who uses it." Stefan said, reminding him.

"I just so happen to know someone crazy enough to give it a shot."

Back at the Grill, Ric stepped aside and on the phone to Damon...

Ric: "Yeah, no, they're still here. They've, uh, drank their way through half the Grill's liquor supply."

Damon: "Good. It'll be easier if they're wasted."

Ric: "So, what's the plan?"

Damon: "Divide and conquer. First, we'll need a little blonde distraction."

Ric hung up and saw Caroline walk into the Grill.

She looked at Ric and walked away.

Kol and Klaus stood at the bar, and Kol recognised Caroline.

"I remember her from last night. She looks like a tasty little thing."

"Say another word and I'll tear out your liver."

Caroline went to walk past them.

"Caroline." Klaus says.

"Oh, it's you." She said, stopping and crossing her arms.

"Join us for a drink?" Klaus asked, looking at her.

Kol raised his glass.

"Hmm, I'd rather die of thirst. But thanks." She mumbled, walking away.

Klaus chuckled.

"Isn't she stunning?" Asked Klaus.

"She certainly looks good walking away from you."
