Klaus laughed.

"What's so funny?" Elijah asked, looking around the table, confusion crossing his face.
"I'm sorry. You missed so much. Uh, trouble in paradise for Stefan and Ellie." Klaus tells him.
"Oh, no. You two haven't broken up? You two were good together."

"We haven't broken up; we're just taking a break." Stefan said, clearing his throat.
"That, and Damon can't keep his lips to himself." Klaus says.
"One more word from your lips about Ellie, and, uh, this dinner is finished." Stefan tells them.
"Hey, you know what? It's probably the best just to keep Ellie... in the do-not-discuss pile." Damon says.
"You're probably right. It's just that the allure of the Petrova doppelgänger is still so strong. What do you say, brother? Shall we tell them about Tatia?" Asked Klaus.
"Now, why should we discuss matters... long since resolved?" Elijah asked.
"Well, given their shared affection for both Ellie, Elena, and Katerina... I think our guests might be curious to learn about the originator of the Petrova line." Klaus said.
"We're not going anywhere, Elijah. Please. Do tell." Damon said, raising his glass.
"When our family first settled here, there was a girl named Tatia. She was an exquisite beauty. Every boy of age desired to be her suitor, even though she'd had a child by another man. None loved her more than Niklaus." Said Elijah.
"Oh, I'd say there was one who loved her at least as much." Klaus says.
"Wait a minute. So you both loved the same girl?"
