Back with Ric, Ellie, and Caroline...

"Why are you doing this?" Ellie asked, glaring at Alaric.

"Because you need me. You're an 18-year-old girl without parents or guidance... or any sense of right and wrong anymore."

"Look at you. How is this right?" Ellie asked, scoffing.

"She's a murderer. She told me she killed someone and liked it."

Ellie looked at Caroline and Caroline looked back at her.

"Now, how is that right? Listen, Ellie, your parents led the Council. It was their life's mission to keep this town safe. They weren't dead six months before you undid it all."

"Shut up! You don't know anything about them!" Ellie shouted, glaring at him.

"Why, am I wrong? Do you actually think that they're proud of you? For dating Stefan?" He asked, kneeling in front of her. "If you don't side with the humans... you're just as bad as they are. Now kill her."

He stood back on his feet and held the stake out. Ellie looked up at him.

"Or I'll do it for you, and I'll make it hurt." He tells Ellie.

Ellie grunted, and he grabbed her arm and pulled her up. He forcing the stake into her hand.

Ellie holds it and breathed heavily, and she stared at Caroline. Ellie cried and swung around, trying to stab him with the stake, but he blocked it.

"Oh, you did." Ellie said, grabbing the jar of vervain and smashed it over his head.

He screamed. Ellie spun around and pulled the pencils out of Caroline's hands and removed the cloth from her mouth.

"Get help. Get Stefan. Go." Ellie said.

Caroline sped off and Ellie ran towards the door and Ric stood there.

"Not so fast."

Ellie gasped.

Caroline stopped, not hearing footsteps behind her.

"Ellie? Ellie?" She asked.

She gasped when she felt someone grab her and covered her mouth.

"Shh. It's okay. It's okay. It's me." He said, removing his hand. "It's okay. You're safe. We'll save Ellie. You go straight home. You stay inside, do you understand?"

She breathed heavily and he spun her around.

"Do you understand me?" He asked.

She nodded.

"Thank you." She said quietly.

He sped off.

Back with Ric and Ellie, he threw her against the lockers, and she groaned...
