The Bond Between Us

"We almost done here, Commander Crak?" You shouted as you destroyed another battle droid with your lightsaber.

"I believe so, General!" Crak responded.

"Good cause I think you're getting a little tired!"

"I was going to say the same thing about you!"

You laughed before you jumped onto the last battle droid tank. Using your lightsaber, you cut a circle out and fell into the tank. You quickly took out the droids in the tank while the rest of your battalion finished off the droids outside. When you hopped out of the tank, you placed your saber back on your belt.

"Looks like our job here is done, boys," you stated. You looked up to see a ship lowering to come and pick you and your battalion up. "Just in time."

As you jumped off the tank, you felt a familiar pull of the Force. Your brows furrowed as the Force signature happily danced with yours. A smile grew across your lips.

"A reason to smile, General?" Crak said as he pulled his helmet off and got onto the ship.

"Possibly," you replied, stepping onto the ship beside him.

He eyed you suspiciously. "Care to elaborate?"

You shrugged. "Maybe some other time."

You tried to contain your excitement as the ship flew closer to your star cruiser. The signature that was dancing with yours grew stronger. The ship landed in the hangar and you were then able to see Obi-Wan waiting for you. A small smile was on his face as he stood with his arms crossed over his chest. You quickly walked off the ship and headed for him.

"What are you doing here?" You wondered. You had to force your arms at your side as they longed to hug the man in front of you. Going weeks without seeing Obi-Wan was really being to take its tool on you.

"The Council has asked me to ask for your help," Obi-Wan responded.

"And here I thought it was a friendly visit."

"I wish it was."

"The Council couldn't have just told me what I was needed for with a transmission?" You began to lead the way out of the hangar.

"Anakin and I were already close by and your star cruiser was on the way to Naboo."

"Naboo? What's going on with Naboo?"

"Senator Amidala believes that the Separatists are readying for another attack on Naboo. The Council has asked us to go investigate."

"Where is Anakin?"

"He and Ahsoka are on the ship we arrived here in."

"Awesome. Let me just tell my men—"

"I already have. We are ready to go when you are."

"Wouldn't wake to keep everyone waiting on me." You changed direction toward the ship.

"How have you been? Keeping safe?"

"Don't worry, Obi, I haven't had any near-death experiences without you around to worry."

"I don't know how that makes me feel, little star. Should I be honored or stay away from you more?"

Your heart sunk. "Stay away more?"

Obi-Wan could feel the shift in you. "I didn't mean more. That came out wrong. I meant—"

"Y/N!" Ahsoka interrupted. She came rushing over and hugged you. "I'm so glad you get to join us."

"As am I," you replied, hugging her back.
