It feels like time is slowing down to a halt.

The rustling of leaves abruptly stops. But, I am conscious, and still, that open maw in front of me is terrifying.

I want to run but, I can't move either.

Suddenly a male voice softly whispers in my ear. "It's time for you to shine, Radiant. Make your mother proud."

My Mom? You know my Mom?!

"Yes, and she is very proud of who you became and will always guide you."

What does that mean?

"You'll understand soon enough, now, slay that beast with your heart."

Time seems to slowly come back and because I was in a stopped motion, I fell on my butt dramatically.

But, I don't have much time before I get eaten! I need to remember what kind of spell I need to use right now!

I dodged to the left, just in time. But, the same thing could not be said for my brothers.

"No!" My jumps towards my brothers and pushes them out of the way. The beast didn't stop though, it cam barreling down on Papa.

Smoke blocked our vision from the impact. The beast squeals in delight.

As the dust settles, something inside me snapped when I saw my Father, half his body is torn apart with yellow and red light particles danced around his missing lower half and left arm.

"Against darkness, may the light inside my heart, emanate light to purge the dark!" It turned its attention to me and charged again.

I dodged it again, seems like the beast is only focused on me now. Everyone is looking at me with surprise.

"Cast this beast before me," with a growl the beast lunges again and hit the trees. My knees are about to give out, I need to finish this spell quickly! "And send him back to where he belongs!"

I raise a paw in the sky, with a yellow aura that ascends from it.

And a high-pitched sound is heard from above, "Salinas!!"

With my last strength, I point my finger at the beast, and finish my incantation,
"Romeqedegie!!"

A flash of light lit up the dark sky, and a pillar of light comes next, engulfing and banishing the beast, with its last yowl leaving only a scorch mark on the grass, then, I collapsed.

I had a dream. Where me and my mom are walking on a field of dandelions, she has a smile on her face and we stop here and there to grab a dandelion that still has not had its seed flowing away in the soft wind.

We both blow on it and wish our biggest dreams together.

Even if it's a dream, I know it was her, like that man told me, she will always be by my side.

I stir up from my sleep, with blurry eyes I can see that I'm in our only bed, Papa and my brothers are sleeping in chairs, with their heads on the bed.

"Papa?" I called out, rather weakly. His ears perked up. "Papa." I called out again.

Papa peers through his arms. "Radiant, you're awake." Both my brothers have woken up.

Ragire got on top of me and hugs me, I involuntarily said 'oof.' He's getting heavier than the last time we saw him, that's a good thing though, I pet his head.

The other two joined soon enough. "I'm sorry, I couldn't protect you."

"I got worried about you Papa, wh-when I saw your body-" I start to sniffle, "in half."

"Shhh, it's okay, I'm still here aren't I?" He hugs me tightly. "You did a great job protecting your brothers."

I can't get the image out of my head, what if hed didn't survive it, what then? What will happen to us?

"Radiant, look at me." I wiped away my tears. "Your old man can take more than that! Astrals are stronger than flesh and bones you know." He laughs. "All I'm saying is... I'm sorry I never wanted you to see me like that."

"It's fine Papa." I took a deep breath. "A male voice saved my life." They look at me inquisitively.

"Wait, a male voice. Does that mean..?" His frown gradually turned into a smile. "The 7 Beings have finally reached you!"

"Who?"

"So he didn't tell you huh." He put his arm under the bed and pulls out the thick paper, maybe it was a photo, as Papa used to tell me. He scoots close to me for us to be able to see what the picture was. "I wasn't able to reveal this to you a few days prior I'm sorry about that, but now I can."

He hands me a picture that looks very familiar, "I've seen her in my dreams."

"That's your Mother and my beautiful wife, Salinas."

"What?!" I looked back at the picture, an orange fox in clad armor beside my father in the same piece of armor. "I don't know what to say."

"You can keep it and I trust you not to ruin it." Nothing would beat the real mom though but, for now, this would suffice.

"Thanks, Dad. For everything." I hug him again and he returns it with a tight embrace of his own.

We eventually sleep again, to pass the Dusk, because tomorrow we need all the energy we can get. For we will be going to school with my two brothers.
