"Mom?" I look up at her. "Is it my fault?" She frowns.

"Everyone has their regrets, even Jamis. The strongest Creatures in Eumava are those who can live with that burden." She ruffles my hair. "And sometimes, it takes time to get used to them." I nod and stand up.

"I'm going to the castle now. I will rest." I left with a wave as I exit the church. "This is what Papa had gone through..? I wanna disappear..." I whisper to myself, selfishly. I raised my head towards the still-bright sky, "I wish it was dusk." I continue to walk back home as it's 3 in the evening. I wobble as I walk, too tired to make myself look fine. Everyone I pass looks at me with pity.

"Radiant!" I hear the voice of the person that had always been with me before Jamis left.

I don't turn around, "Hey, Kipper..."

"I'm sorry about you and Jamis." He puts a paw on my shoulder and I push it away. He sighs, "I'll make it up to you, please, give me a chance to make it right?" I stare at his eyes, his pleading eyes.

"Fine." I bring a smile to my face. "Just this once." I walk past him with his face stunned at my reaction. "Just no touching for now."

"Understood. Let me walk you back." He refrains from talking to me anymore as we walk through the cobbled path toward the castle. As we stood in front of the castle I turn to him.

"Let's start from the beginning. I'm Radiant Salinas, and you are?" I held my paw to him he takes it and replied.

"I'm Kipper Mcclough. It's nice to meet you, Radiant." I retrieve my paw.

"Pleasure's all mine, Kipper. Now if you'll excuse me I shall take my rest." I bow to him slightly and step into the castle halls. The walk to my room is uneventful with just a few servants walking past me from time to time. As I reached my room, I lay in my bed not minding how I smell since I'm far too tired to take a shower. I just want to sleep.

Closing my eyes, I was brought to darkness. "Took you long enough to come back." I reopened my eyes to see that I'm back in the dark realm except Alastair is now visible as a blob of black smoke, imitating my physique. "I've been lonely you know." I sit up.

"Can you let me rest?" The smoke vaguely bops.

"I am. You're having the deepest sleep of your time an explosion won't wake you up." He laughs at his joke. "You should thank me for being kind to you. Not many darknesses respect the Astral they share their belief with."

I smile faintly, "Well, I'm hoping you found a way for me to get you out of here?"

"There is, I contacted our Dark Lord and he told me that, any Astral can release darkness when they feel very intense emotions. And you briefly gave me a vision of the outside world when you lost hope in yourself."

"You're talking about... That?" I can't read the movements of the smoke identity of Alastair, but I think he nodded his head. "So all I need to do is release more of my misery."

"You're catching up to this than I thought you would. Are you okay?" He got closer to attempt to check my face.

"Yeah, I'm fine." I smile. "I just need to understand things, just give me time."

"Alright, if you say so. Also, it's morning, I better wake you up."

"Wake me u-" before I could finish my sentence I am engulfed by darkness and open my blurry eyes to a fox he almost looks like me, except he's much smaller.

He chuckles, "Shocked?" More than shocked. "Oh more shocked huh?"

"Well, now I truly know what Darkness is. They are almost the same as Astrals."

"You are right, I am the half of you, I carry the weight of your regrets, emotions, and pasts you wanted to forget." I realize he's holding my paw and he looked at it as well. "Also, we're connected now, in a way where if you die, I die. This is the only way I can be let out from the darkness without losing myself to your misery, or more importantly, costing my life."

"Is holding my paw a part of it?" He laughs while scratching his neck.

"To be honest with you? Yea, we need to keep holding paws as long as the sun is out, or else, I'm dead." I frown.

"And I don't want that." I ponder. "What would we do if someone-" a knock is heard on my door.

"Hey, Radiant? Can I talk to you for a sec?" It's Blazer, I'm sure he'd understand...

"Brother, once you open the door please, don't freak out, okay?"

"Okay, I'm going in." He slowly opens the door and gets inside and stares at Alastair and me dumbfounded. "Bro, how many affairs do you have?"

"W-what?" I blush. "No! This isn't what it looks like!" He sighs and shakes his head.

"Come on, break up you two."

We both say, "NO!" In unison. "We can't brother..." He stares back at Alastair with more intensity and I think the message hits him.

"You're... You both look alike... And I don't feel any belief from you... Are you my brother's Darkness?" Alastair nods and I sit up to block him not wanting to lose someone to who I owed my life. Which Blazer seems to get as he lowers his guard down. "This must be the first time darkness and its Astral opposition came to a treaty." He approaches Alastair. "I must know your name."

"Alastair, and you must be Blazer?" They both shake paws. "It's nice to meet a reasonable person."

"Well, I'm sure if you were a bad guy, you would have killed Radiant by now. Also, why can't you two stop holding each other's paws?" We explain that Alastair will die if I let go of his paw.

"Maybe we should tell this to someone I know?"

"Cade?" He blushes at the mention of his boyfriend's name.

"Y-yes. Maybe he will know what to do with your situation."
