Chapter 20 - Visitors From Above

Jamis had come to see me and he had me in his lap when I woke up. He told me about how I kissed someone because I was in a delirious state. "Wait really?!" I say while blushing, "Who did I kiss?"

"Why did you want to know?" His tone comes out angry. "Sorry, didn't mean it like that." He regains his composure and tells me his name, "Kipper." A blue wolf. "He works here, saying he owed the church for breaking a sacred vase."

"He sounds interesting." Jamis looks away from me, for some reason he's acting rather strange and his mood is very tense. "Are you okay?"

He doesn't answer and before I could ask again, the door bursts open and I see the most handsome wolf emerge from it. He's, wow. "Hello, Chosen-"

"Radiant's fine, w-what's your name?"

"My name is Kipper, and I am here to deliver a message to you Radiant." I nod, checking him out. Eventually, Jamis leaves without saying goodbye or anything. He bumps into the blue wolf.

"So, what is it that you wanted to say?" He clears his throat.

"The King, Queen, and the 7 Divine Beings request for your authority at the castle, right now. And I am here to escort you there." He says as he gestures for my paws. "Let's go, Chosen."

He's such a gentleman. "O-okay!" I take his paw and we both trudge to the castle.

We walk side by side in the hallway while he held my paw. He takes a look at me and saw me staring at him and he grins. "Can't take your eyes off of me, eh?" I blush.

I got confused when we suddenly stopped, "Why did we stop?"

He looks at me with a raised brow, "Oh, sorry Chosen did you want a longer walk?" He chuckles, "We're in front of the great hall now, and only you can grant us entry. That is if I can join you inside." He winks at me.

"O-of course, you can come!" I get easily flustered around him. He has this aura of confidence in him that I like. I touch the big door and give it a weak push. It slides open smoothly with a loud thud, making everyone inside the room redirect their attention to us. 'I pushed too hard, didn't I?' I whisper and Kipper seemed to hear me.

In a hushed tone, he whispers in my ear, 'unlikely, I think the door just works that way, to notify the Astrals on the other side.' He walks forward and gestures for me to come inside, "Don't keep them waiting." He smirks.

I walk up to an empty chair still blushing. Until I realized what he told me earlier... The 7 Divine Beings..? Does that mean...

"My child... Radiant." I glanced toward the sound and my eyes widen.

"Mom?" I feel myself tear up and she seemed to already be crying. She gets up from her chair and hugs me tightly. I hugged back.

"Are you feeling well now?" I nod.

"So this is the little cub you had." A male lizard says with admiration, "My name is Numtal, the Divinity of Creation." He smiles and awkwardly takes his paw back from a paw shake. I giggle.

"Well, I can see the resemblance. But, can we continue discussing our concerns now?" A wolf that resembles Feront's attitude. "What you looking at mutt?"

"Now, now don't start a fight with a curious child." It surprises me that Feront listens to the Time Divinity are they a couple or something? "He's right though, we should continue what we were discussing." My mother lets go of me and return to her chair.

"Now that all of us are here, I am going to show you the future of Eumava when the Pillars of Creation are lost." The King gestures for a hooded figure holding a crystal ball and he raises it a hologram of the 7 Pillars is shown and everything around started to rot it might be a hallucination but--

"There's a lot of screaming and they are saying something." I blurt it out and they look at me with confusion.

"You can hear it better than I do? Salinas what did you feed your child? A handful of space dust?" He gets shushed by the other 6 Beings and I inform them what was being said.

A high-pitched screech, makes me shout and the crystal ball breaks.

I hold my head, Kipper grabs my arm trying to support me, looking concerned. "Are you okay?" He looks like he doesn't know what to say or do.

"I'm fine."

The others look pale though, including my mother. "Those weren't my child's voice. Some of those were encrypted." She says woe is apparent in her voice.

"What shall we do now? If they are truly going to send a force to destroy the Pillars of Creation 7 dawn from now?" They fidget around like there is no obvious option.

"We'll protect it." Allure shakes his head at my suggestion.

"I can feel your determination. But, that wasn't a message of the future, it is something you cannot prevent from happening. It's a prophecy. The end of Eumava." Gargan slams his paw on the table.

"What are we going to lose then? We'll die anyway, why not die fighting?" The others have confidence in their faces now, but Allure is still not convinced. Though I just realized that someone is missing from the meeting.

"Shouldn't Jamis be here for the meeting?" Allure seemed to have his lightbulb lit up cause he looks at me like he figured something out.

"Find Jamis immediately, I have something to tell him." The King sends 2 guards and 1 messenger to find Jamis.

I wonder why he was upset earlier. Or why he left and didn't say anything? I hope he's okay.
