Chapter 21 - A Broken Trust

It's happening again... I watch as Radiant and Kipper walk by, paw by paw. Why do I keep losing those I love? Is it because I'm ugly? Maybe that's why they put masks on killers. It's because they are ugly to the core. I feel tears fall down my mask, damping my clothes and fur. I wipe them away, "If I don't deserve love then there is nothing for me to mourn." Yes, Yes... That's right, I have nothing to lose.

I stumble while I walk feeling my mind split in half like I was so wounded I can barely walk. "Words hurt, so shut the feelings away and do what you are told." Only one purpose, "Protect Radiant, Protect Radiant, Protect..." I stop walking. Just like nothing happened, numb from top to bottom.

"Jamis!" Someone calls, and though the voice is not familiar, I dare not look behind me. I'm tired. "Sir Jamis." A feline messenger stands in front of me. "We have been looking everywhere for you."

"What do you want..?" I say menacingly, making the two guards and the messenger tremble. Yeah, that's right, be scared, 'cause I'm a monster.

"I-I was assigned to tell you that you are needed at the great hall." I nod, not prompted for more, I'll get it over with.

"Allure: Zixoh" Time stops around me and I walk back to the castle. Looking around while doing so. Seeing stalls with vendors and a family of three, smiling like the world isn't cruel. I wished to have something like that, but it's too late now. Father's dead, Mother's been missing since I was 8. And many of my brothers do not care about bonding and relationships, all they want is the throne. They must have thrown a party after my Father died. Fucking assholes. I'm really wicked, aren't I?

"Release." Time flows back again, and some bystanders got startled at my sudden appearance, but they soon shrugged it off. Even bystanders think I'm just a strong gust of wind that passed by.

Two guards open the castle doors for me. At least they do care to look at things. I quickly paced through the endless halls until I found the big doors that leads to the Great Hall. I pushed it slightly and step inside.

"Jamis! You're finally here." Salinas hugs me, but I do not reciprocate.

"Yes."

"Is something wrong?" I look towards Radiant and Kipper behind him. I sigh shakily.

"No."

She brought me beside her chair and I obeyed to stand beside her, not that I can stand beside Kipper. 'Curse you...'

"Now, I remember you can use music as magic." And this day couldn't get worse. It takes all my might to stop the boiling emotions inside me.

"Yes..." I forcefully say.

"Perfect, we need your help." I clench my teeth and my fist. "Use some of your magic to aid us in the upcoming war."

I chuckle, "Why not just use it all?" I say glaring at the goat.

He's got that horrified look on his face now, as well as the others in the room. "What's gotten into you?" Numtal asks. "If this is about your love life then this is not the best way to act-"
