Three years after Isabel we had Farlan. Isabel had a good mix of Levi and Hanji. She had Levi's dark hair and his gray eyes but she had Hanji's eye shape. Her lips were a perfect size and she had Levi's nose. Isabel was a hyper and smart girl.
Farlan looked a lot like me. He had Hanji's hair color and the exact eyes as me. It seemed as though he also got my height, luckily. Farlan was a temperamental, clean freak. Just like his dad. He could be very kind hearted though.
Levi and I raised these kids with the help of Hanji and Erwin. They went to school and graduated with honors. They also went to college. Isabel was trained in the medical field and Farlan became a mechanic. I am so proud of them and I know Levi was too.
I am a 75 year old grandpa now. Every month I visit the same place and read a few pages of the diary I secretly wrote in nearly every day since I met Levi. It's hard for me to go through these memories. When I read them I can feel everything. It's like Levi is still here.
I feel the breeze blow through my gray hair as I read the final chapter to this ugly slab of rock. The slab isn't the important thing though. What is on it and below it, is. The words on the slab read:
" Levi Ackerman, Loving father, husband, and friend. December 30th, 1930 to May 25th, 2010."
I come here every month and relive our life together. This is the final chapter of our life. The final chapter of the story of our love.
"Hey Levi? Do you remember when Farlan was born?" I closed my eyes and leaned my head back. "Life if getting harder and harder with out you. It's been 60 months since you passed but I just can't cope with it."
I placed my hand onto my chest, my fingers touching the ring I wear around my neck. I rubbed my finger tips around the soft gold ring. I laughed weakly.
"I still wear your ring around my neck." I felt my eyes start to burn and my stomach churned.
"Have I shown you my scrapbook? No, I don't think so. Do you want to see it? Of course you do. It's pretty cool actually."
I slowly pulled out a thick book out of my bag and opened it to the first page. The first page had a copy of our first e-mails to eachother. I turned the page. On the second page there was a picture of Levi dancing.
"Do you remember that? You were so amazing." My voice started to crack as all the memories rushed back.
On the third page was a picture I secretly took when I was on the escalator when we first met. His punk look fit him perfectly.
"Everytime I look at this picture I get the butterflies I had then. You were so handsome."
The next page was the picture I took of him stretching, his muscles flexing.
"You were so upset when I took this."
Picture after picture. Memory after memory. I flipped through and stopped at the wedding. I broke. The first picture was of Levi alone. He was standing there waiting for me. That one strand of hair that fell past his brow.
The next picture was when I got up there. Then there was a picture when we said our vows, gave eachother the rings, kissed, the ones we posed to before joining the reception, our first dance, and the cake.
I cried. I pulled the book to my chest and cried.
"Levi! You were supposed to wait. You should've waited!" I yelled at the stupid slab of stone that is causing me so much pain. "You... should... have.... waited..." I sobbed and slapped the stone. "I hate you... I hate you..."
I sobbed and sobbed. I screamed as much as my old lungs could handle before falling to my knees in defeat.
"Farlan and Isabel have kids now." I said sadly and softly. "Isabel named her first born Levi."
"I love you, Levi. I always will love you. I'll come here every month until the day I die. But between me and you, I died the moment you left."
I looked back at the scrapbook that fell on the floor. It was opened to the pictures I took of him and the babies. The first one was Levi taking his first nap with Isabel. The next was him feeding her. Then him playing, walking, cooking, drawing, cleaning, teaching, and loving her.
I cried some more. I cried until I had no more tears to cry. "I love you, so much. You're face, your touch, your warmth, your kiss, your mannerisms, your cleanliness. I love you. I love you now. I'll love you then. I'll never ever forget our time together. It is unforgettable."
"Thank you, Levi, for the best 50 some odd years of my life. I will be joining you soon."
I got off my knees and picked up my book and bag. I kissed two fingers and then placed it onto the grave.
"Until next time, Levi."
