Solar Flare

"Careful Supergirl, you've got a bunch of guys coming in at your twelve." Winn warns through the comms device. Kara turns away from Lena, noticing a rather large group of aliens storming towards them. 

"You stay here and keep collecting the plants Lena, I can take care of them." She says, speeding towards them in an attempt to keep them as far from Lena as possible. The raven-haired woman nods in response as she continues putting the plants she needs for a potion. 

Kara manages to take the aliens by surprise with the speed she uses as she begins punching them back. Any time one of them starts trying to make their way towards Lena, she grabs them by the shirt and yanks them back to focusing on her instead. 

Lena keeps shifting her focus between the plants and Kara, worried about her friend. She was well aware that Kara had already been very busy today with how often she left their shared apartment. With Alex and Kelly being on their honeymoon, Supergirl had been needed on quite a few smaller crimes. Truthfully, she was concerned the super might solar flare. Once she had all of the plants she needed, she places them into the bag she brought with them. 

"Kara, I got everything we need, we can go back to The Tower now." Lena speaks into the comm, standing up and turning towards Kara. She notices that she was still trying to fend off the aliens that came and appeared to be struggling. Lena closes her eyes and holds her hand out in front of her, trying to use one of her spells she had learned from her book. She mumbles the words in Latin and feels as the magic surges inside her and goes out through her hand. 

She looks back up and notices that all the aliens had gotten knocked back. The stumble back onto their feet and run away, they clearly hadn't been anticipating that. Lena turns her focus back to Kara; she was still laying on her back. As she runs closer to her friend, she notices scratches on her body. Those must have been from the aliens' claws, as she knew Kara hadn't had them before. Which could only mean one thing, Supergirl just Solar flared. 

"Kara, Kara you need to wake up." Lena says as she kneels down next to her passed out form. She places a hand over Kara's pulse point, wanting to make sure she was still ok. Once she was able to feel the steady beat of blood running through her veins, Lena sighs in relief. 

"Thank God you're ok." She whispers. "Hey Winn, she solar flared. We're going to need some help." 

"Copy, I have agents on their way."

Lena sat there waiting with Kara for the full five minutes it took for the agents to arrive, looking over the visible injuries she had. Luckily, they all appeared to be superficial. Once the team arrived, she helped them lift Kara into the van and they drove back to The Tower.

Kara woke up, bolting up into a seated position and opening her eyes. When she opened them, however, she didn't see the gang of aliens surrounding her like she expected. She was sat in a bed at The Tower's med bay. 

"Hey, you're alright." Lena says softly, putting a hand on Kara's shoulder. "You solar flared Kara." Her friend's voice sounded a lot brusquer, like she was upset with her. Kara noticed that the sun lamps were on, trying to help her regain power.

"Did you get the plants? Were you able to make the potion to defeat-"

"I did get all of them, but I didn't make it yet. I... I was worried about you." The hero looks confused at that, looking over her body.

"I'm ok Lee, I just have scratches."

Lena sighs. 

"This time. It could have been much worse." Kara nods, knowing that it could have. "And you just nod? Kara you could have died, you didn't have your powers for who even knows how long because of how much you've been overworking yourself!" Lena shouts, making Kara flinch a bit as she didn't expect that.

"That's something that could happen on any mission Lena, you've never been this worried before, what happened?"

The raven-haired woman runs a hand through her hair angrily. "Don't you think I know that, Kara? Anytime you leave the apartment, I practically hold my breath until you come back because I'm so worried about you possibly solar flaring." 

"I'm sorry, I didn't know you were that worried about me." Kara speaks softly. Lena tsks in annoyance as she mutters.

"Of course, you didn't, you're oblivious to everything I do."

"Lee, what are you talking about?" The woman in question rolls her eyes as she decides the blonde really needed to have it spelled out right in front of her.

"I was worried because I'm in love with you, you idiot!" She shouts, her eyes widening as she places her hand over her mouth. Had she really just said that aloud?

"Oh" 

Lena turns away to stand up from her chair, Kara would never want to be friends with her anymore after she admitted that. Kara reaches out to grab her hand as she tries to walk away.

"I'm not upset." She clarifies to the woman as she turns back to face her again, tears lightly shining in her eyes. "I'm in love with you too Lena, I have been for a while." She admits. Lena moves closer to her, sitting back down in the chair.

"You don't have to lie to make me feel better."

"I'm not." Lena looks down as if she still doesn't believe the blondes words. Kara takes both of her hands, gently resting them on Lenas cheeks as she wipes away the girls' tears. "Is it ok if I kiss you?"

She looks a bit shocked, but nods, nonetheless. The blonde slowly pulls her face closer as she gently connects their lips together in the sweetest kiss either of them had ever experienced with a previous partner. That's how both of them could instantly tell that it really meant something.

"El mayarah?"

"El mayarah." Lena says with conviction as she rejoins their lips.
