Kara is a vampire. While that may sound very scary, given the way that the media portrays them, Kara is one of the many good ones in the world. Sometimes, if she doesn't get enough blood, she will vamp out a bit and go hunting, despite her hatred of it, but that rarely happens today.
That previous fact was mainly due to Kara, in fact. She is a vigilante of sorts in her town of National City. She goes around to buildings to take any excess blood. Steals would really be a more accurate word, but Kara only takes whatever the local vampires need. She makes sure to go around to a few different places as well, mainly so she doesn't take too much of one place's supply, but also so she doesn't get caught.
Lately, however, Kara has been going to one certain building quite often. L-Corp.
Kara flies onto a balcony in her bat form before turning back into a human. She is fairly certain that nobody would be here this late, as she had been spying on the building a few days leading up to this little heist to gauge when people would leave, but she opens the door quietly just to be safe.
She steps as softly as she can as she wanders around the building in search of their lab. Kara has seen L-Corp on the news quite a bit, and she knows this will be her biggest heist yet, as well as the most dangerous. Lena Luthor is pretty notorious for having the best security system known to man.
But Kara needs this blood
She eventually comes across the lab but notes that it has a security code on the door. Of course. Kara looks around for a handbook of some sort but comes across something much better. Some employee had the code written down on a notepad in one of their desk drawers. She walks back to the lab entrance and inputs the code before walking in.
Kara's eyes are drawn to all the high-tech lab equipment. If she wasn't so worried about constantly ensuring the city's vampire population had enough blood, she probably would have gone to college to be a scientist herself.
She manages to find a big fridge and rummages through it a bit, before coming across a few cases of blood bags. She opens them up and takes a couple of bags from each one, rearranging the remaining ones to make it look like none had been taken.
"You know, that blood was going to be sent to our children's hospital."
Kara jumps in response to the familiar voice, turning back into a bat for a moment. She hears a low chuckle behind her before turning around. It was Lena Luthor.
"I've heard about you on the news. A vampire stealing blood to give to others?"
She attempts to respond to the woman but remembers she was still a bat and turns back.
"Sorry, I suppose you probably couldn't understand that." It was true, the woman before her had only heard a few squeaks. "I only take what people need. Most vampires have to resort to hunting humans or animals, despite not wanting to, because we never get a consistent supply from officials. I'm just trying to prevent needless deaths."
The raven-haired woman nods in response. "That makes sense." She appears to be thinking for a moment. "I'll tell you what, we'll be having a blood drive in a few weeks. Most of that blood will be going to the children's hospital again, but we'll be keeping a portion of it as well for research purposes. If you can provide me with somewhere to send any excess we may have, I can do so discretely."
Kara looks baffled. "You're not going to call the cops on me for stealing?"
The CEO, who Kara has to admit looks even more attractive in person than on TV, smirks a bit. "No, I don't plan on contacting the police. I've wanted to contact you for a while actually." When the blonde just looks at her, confused once again, Lena continues. "I planted a fake security code in that desk. One that sends an alert to my phone, as opposed to the police station. It would appear you found it."
