TW: Substance abuse (alcohol)

Kara wakes up to a ding from her phone. She groggily rubs her eyes as last night's events come flooding back into her brain, she reaches over to the coffee table and searches blindly for her phone.

Once she grabs it, Kara opens her eyes to look at the screen.

Lena: I'm so sorry, meet me at Noonan's so I can explain?

The blonde groans. She didn't really want to see Lena after what had happened, nor did she want an explanation, but she knew she really should go to make sure her secret wouldn't get out. Kara highly doubts that Lena would do that, but a mere day ago she also highly doubted that Lena would ever cheat. Now look at where that doubt got her.

Kara: K

After sending the short message, showing Lena that she was clearly still very upset, Kara gets dressed in some simple clothes. She couldn't bring herself to get all dressed up right now. She makes the fairly short drive to Noonan's, knowing Lena would likely already be there, and enters the restaurant.

"Kara!" That voice makes Kara's heart break a little inside. Lena had been very focused on the front door and spoke up the second she saw the hero walk through them. "I already ordered your drink; I hope you don't mind." The CEO says as she nervously fiddles with her hands.

Kara walks over to her table, sitting across from her... Ex? She notices that Lena had gotten her coffee order right. She always has known her so well. "Thanks." The blonde speaks quietly, taking a sip of the sweet drink.

"Of course." Lena says with a nod.

They sit in awkward silence as they both drink their coffees. Lena is the one who eventually starts the conversation they both had been dreading.

"I'm so sorry Kara." She starts. Kara opens her mouth to respond, but Lena continues. "Right before I, before I killed Lex" Lena swallows hard, and Kara can tell where this was going. She stays silent and listens. "he told me about you. He told me your secret." Kara was grateful for Lena not saying said secret aloud. "I was so hurt, and I ended up getting drunk, which I fully understand is not any excuse for what I did to you, but my intoxicated brain decided that was the best way to get back at you." Lena subtly wipes away a few tears after finishing her rambling.

"You're right." Kara speaks up after a second of processing. "That absolutely wasn't the right way to deal with what you heard." More tears start streaming down Lena's face and she looks down, not wanting anyone, especially not Kara, to see her like that. "It isn't a good excuse either." When Kara finishes her last sip of coffee, she moves to get up but is interrupted by Lena's hand on her own.

"I know what I did wasn't right." She speaks lowly through her tears. "I just wanted to properly apologize to you and say that I completely understand if you don't want to see me again." Kara doesn't respond, she only slowly pulls her hand away and exits the shop, going back over to her apartment.

Alex had left already; Kara vaguely remembers hearing whispering about an HR issue that she needed to attend to before coming back. She decides to put on one of her comfort movies and cuddles into the couch with a fluffy blanket and pillow, waiting for Alex to come back.

Her sister comes back about an hour later with Maggie and a few pizzas, stating that Kara needed a girl's night to help cheer her up. They played some of Kara's favorite games, watched some funny movies, had a few drinks (alien alcohol for Kara, of course), and ate all of the pizzas. Kara had to admit, it really did help having both of them there, but it also reminded her of the times they had done the same things with Lena.
