Blood
Blood
Lena was sitting in the car as her driver took her home from work, and blood was the only thing she could think about. She knew she should have brought some with her, in case she ended up staying late yet again, and under normal circumstances, she would have. Unfortunately, her friend Kara had gotten busy with an article she was working on and was unable to bring her a refill of blood bags last night.
Lena would have taken a blood bag from L-Corp but was worried about someone noticing the missing blood and reporting her for it. She had already done it a few times before, anymore and she'll most definitely be deemed suspicious.
"Harold, could you take me to Ms. Danvers' apartment, please?" Lena requests after a moment of thinking. She would be going nuts tomorrow if she didn't have any tonight.
"Of course, Ms. Luthor." He changes the GPS to direct them to Kara's apartment complex and starts driving again. Lena sits in silence from the backseat, anxiously fiddling with her hands as she waits to see the familiar blonde. She takes her phone out and sends the woman a text, hoping she would still be awake to let her in.

Lena closes the door after thanking Harold and telling him to go home for the night. She greets the receptionist, telling him who she was there to see, even though he already knew from all the other times the youngest Luthor had come to the complex.
She enters the elevator, and when the door opens back up at Kara's floor, the blonde was already standing in her doorway waiting for her.
"Hey" Kara says softly. She was clearly tired, and Lena almost felt bad for disturbing her so late. At the same time though, she knew she needed to if she wanted to keep everyone around her safe.
"Hey Kara, I was hoping I could just come over here to pick up the... drinks this time?" Lena disguises her request; well aware she couldn't ask the woman to give her blood out in the open.
"That's fine, come on in." The woman offers, holding the door open for her.
Lena follows her into the apartment, making sure the door had closed all the way before rephrasing her question. "You were able to pick up the blood today then?" She asks her knight in shining armor.
Kara had been helping Lena get blood for quite a while. They had become friends early on in life, and when Kara had revealed to her that she was a Kryptonian, she knew that she would be a trustworthy person to share her own secret with. As soon as Lena revealed that it was difficult to secretly get a reliable stock of blood to keep her sane, Kara volunteered to help out. She was a Kryptonian after all, it wouldn't be too difficult for her to sneak around. Kara had even started to supply blood to other vampires as well, giving her a bit of fame in National City's vampire community.
"I was, it won't be quite enough to fully get you through the week though." The blonde admits shyly. "It's ok though, I have a plan that'll work in the meantime." She quickly reassures her friend.
Lena nods, her arms crossed in front of her. "What would that be?"
"You're going to drink some of my blood for tonight, and then the rest of this supply should last until next week." Kara says plainly, grabbing the box of blood bags from a fridge as she does so. Lena looks shocked.
"Are you crazy?" She whisper-yells at the woman in front of her. "Kara, we have no idea what that could do to you, with you being an alien, let alone a Kryptonian!"
She sighs. "I know it seems like a bad idea, but people already suspect me of being a vampire hybrid as is, and it's not like I don't have a way of getting enough blood for myself." Kara argues.
