After walking back down the steps to the first floor, Lena leads Kara to the dining room. She notices Elizabeth watching her with pride, most of the older woman's attention is focused on the fact that Lena and Kara are still holding hands.
"This all looks delicious Elizabeth." Eliza speaks from her spot at the table as everyone sits down to eat.
The woman in question turns her attention from her daughter to Eliza. "Thank you, Lena actually helped make it." Lena blushes a bit from all the attention suddenly being on her.
"I'm sure it'll be amazing then." Jeremiah assures with a grin from his spot next to Alex, who, according to Kara, hadn't left the man's side since being reunited with him. Just then, Lionel walks into the room, and Lena looks shocked. She hasn't seen her father in years.
"Hey, Dad." Liza greets with a grin.
"Father." Lex says with a small nod as the older man takes a seat at the table, allowing dinner to begin.
Everyone grabs a plate from the stack, taking some food before the real conversation begins.
"Are you both already aware of the elephant in the room?" Elizabeth asks Eliza and Jeremiah, who both nod in return.
"Alex and Kara told us."
Lex and Liza both look confused by the parents' conversation. "Huh?" Both of them speak at the same time.
The four adults chuckle a bit. "It would appear those two aren't" Jeremiah states the obvious.
"We're from a different universe." Alex speaks up from between her parents, pointing to Lena, Kara, and herself. "Our earth... was getting destroyed, to say the least, and ended up colliding with this one."
Lena notices that her father doesn't seem fazed by this information, and assumes that Elizabeth must have told him at some point throughout the day.
"Wait, so the parallel universe theory is true?" Liza asks.
"Yes, and the universe we're all from, while similar to this one, is also quite... different." Lena speaks up, unsure how to explain to the two that both their parents were dead in another universe, that Lex was evil, and that Liza never even existed.
Eventually, after a long while of talking, Liza and Lex wrap their heads around the fact that this version of Lena had been through much more than the Lena they knew. They both also appeared quite sad over the fact that Lena wasn't married to Kara in the old universe.
Eliza manages to break the heavier conversation topic by bringing out a pie, which puts a big grin on Liza's face.
Once they have all the other dishes put away, and a slice of pie each, the conversation goes much more light.
"So, aside from the obvious, how does this universe compare to your other one?" Lex asks his sister as he eats a bite of pie.
"From what I've seen so far, it's a lot nicer. I can't even count how many alien-friendly ads played over the radio while Elizabeth and I were cooking." Lena starts, looking at Kara with a small grin, knowing that would make her happy as well. "Climate change doesn't seem to be nearly as big of a problem, even just based on looking at the sky and sea level."
Lionel is the one who speaks next, surprising Lena. "As soon as we learned how big of an issue climate change and carbon emissions were becoming, Luthor Corp teamed up with a few other large companies to help. We started manufacturing affordable electric machinery for companies to use, along with electric vehicles."
"I tried doing that in our old universe, but every company I asked always refused. I'm glad people in this universe actually understand the importance."
