"Kara, you need to hurry up and get dressed or you're going to be late!" Her adoptive Mom, Eliza shouts from downstairs in the kitchen, causing Kara to shoot up in her bed. She notices the small digital clock on her bedside table, 6:20 A.M.

She uses her super speed to get dressed in under a minute before rushing downstairs for breakfast with Eliza and Alex.

"Hey, sleepy head, glad you're finally awake." Eliza greets as Kara enters the kitchen, handing her a plate. The blonde starts putting some food on her plate as Eliza continues speaking. "I'm going to have Alex drive you both to school today, I need to head to work early."

Kara nods her head as she puts a couple of pancakes on her plate, before sitting down at the table. "That's alright with me." She states simply as Eliza sets a glass of orange juice down for her and Alex.

The woman sighs lightly, checking to make sure she has everything she'd need for the day in her purse. Once she checked it a few different times, Eliza kisses both girls on the head. "Have a good day, I'll be home a little after you guys get done with school. Alex, make sure you two leave by 6:40 so you have enough time to get to your classrooms." The teen in question rolls her eyes, making it obvious to Kara that the older woman had reminded her of the plan many times before that. Eliza leaves the house a moment later, leaving the two sisters on their own.

"You have your backpack ready to go? I'm just going to put our dishes in the dishwasher before we leave." Alex mentions, checking her watch. Kara goes upstairs to grab her backpack, stopping to grab Alex's as well, as her sister puts their dishes away in the dishwasher.

The two teenage girls leave promptly at 6:39, a whole minute before Eliza's deadline. Alex drives carefully, at least more carefully than she does when around her friends, and in the end, they both arrive at school safely.

After parting ways with her sister, Kara walks to her first class of the day, excited to meet back up with her friends after the weekend break. "Hey, James! Winn!" Kara calls out when she notices the two already sitting down at their homeroom table.

The two both turn in surprise, smiling and waving when they see Kara. "Hey!" Winn greets excitedly as Kara takes a seat. "Lena, Sam, and Brainy are all grabbing smoothies from that place across campus, they should be here soon." He mentions as he puts his phone down.

The trio of friends catch up on what they all did over the weekend while they wait for the others. James had gone out of town to see his girlfriend, and Winn had started playing a new videogame. The others arrive just as Kara is explaining how she and Alex had completed an escape room together. "It was seriously SO AMAZING! We all should try one together sometime soon." She concludes as they all sit down just before the final bell rings.

"I see everyone is here, so I'm just going to do attendance while you all talk amongst yourselves." Their teacher, Ms. Grant, announces. The classroom erupts into conversations once again as soon as she is done speaking.

"You didn't have to get us drinks too." Winn speaks up, making Kara realize that everyone at the table had drinks, not just the three that stopped.

"What good does having money do if I don't get to use it to buy my friends treats?" Lena points out, taking a sip of her smoothie.

"Money has many other uses than purchas-"

"I realize that Brainy" The raven-haired woman laughs. "I just like using it to treat you all sometimes, like a thank you for being my friends."

Kara smiles a bit as she takes a drink of her smoothie. Lena still remembers which one is her favorite. She isn't sure why, but she and Lena had started to drift apart in the last couple of months. The whole group was very close since eighth grade when Kara first joined the school. Now they were juniors in high school, and the group was still close, aside from a small line that had been drawn, that is.
