Holly scan through the restaurant menu while waiting for her best friend, Emma. They have a breakfast date. They haven't met each other for months because they are too busy lately to make time for each other. Holly looks very feminine and lovely in her favorite modest white dress with intricate lace and a pink wedges. She wear her jet black hair in a bun because the weather is particularly sunny.
Right when she gets to the breakfast special section, Emma walks in the restaurant. She is in her violet top, a black pants and a matching black ballet flats. Her floral hijab accentuate her beautiful oriental face. Holly waves fervently to her and stand up to hug her close friend. They sit opposite each other and talks to each other animatedly. They stop talking when they realize the waiter come to their table and they quickly order the breakfast special.
They catch up on a lot of things that happened in their life. It is so nice meeting her best friend again. Nothing is too mundane to talk about. They are at the prime age where they should make use of their youth either to have a career or to build a family. Neither girls plan to get married early. They know marriage is a huge responsibility - one that they don't want to take lightly. They rather spending their youth being single and build their own life.
Emma, being the more academic one of the two, is going to fly to the United Kingdom for her postgraduate soon. It is not a surprise to Holly that she is accepted for the postgraduate scholarship. Unlike Emma, Holly prefer to find a good job, or maybe a career, because she is no longer interested in studying. She only study to survive. Bachelor degree is good enough for her. Holly send a few CV to the nearby companies after her breakfast with Emma. Some of the job posts seem interesting while other does not interest her at all. She knows that it's not her place to be too choosy when it comes to finding a job. She is interested in the tutoring job at the nearby tuition school. It will be a nice temporary job and it will look nice on her CV. She heard a teaching job is difficult and there is a lot of pressure but the pay is almost the same pay as starting salary for a degree holder if one takes enough classes to teach. She love how flexible the working hour is.
She open the door to the tuition school and give a huge toothy grin to the receptionist. She pass her CV to the girl and peep through an open door revealing an active class. There are about 10 kids and a teacher. The job looks fun and she thinks she can handle the pressure. She go back to her car and drive home. She hope she get a job soon because she can feel her mood dwindling. She suddenly has the urge to apply for a master degree. She is not used to not doing anything.

It is an antique Victorian study table with a beautiful detailing. She loves the study table and she consider it as one of her prized possession. She fiddle with the paper next to her laptop and give a huge sigh. There is a lot of things to do if one want to study abroad and she is not as interested in studying in the first place.
She can study locally if she want to. There is no need for her to study abroad. The idea of studying in her home country is more appealing to her. She can work and study simultaneously if she is lucky enough to get both. She open the website to several local universities and there is a lot of interesting programs for her to apply.
She scribble on her notepad and continue with her research. Holly just can't wait to start something soon.
