Moments

It is an awkward date for the both of them. It is their second date after the gala night. The gala night was full of distractions that they didn't interact with each other that much. They didn't have the need to say anything to each other or fill the silent awkwardness between them. However, this time they actually have to face each other. They promised to have a quiet little dinner in their favorite Italian restaurant - and talk.

Laila purposely wear black cardigan over her black tank top with her black pants and her comfortable black espadrilles . She want to wear something comfortable, yet, fancy enough to go have their date at the fancy restaurant. She accessories the look with her pearl earrings and bracelets. Azhar look handsome as usual with only his favorite navy blue jeans and black pants. They both go with the smart casual look that night. Probably because everything that happened between the two of them makes everything else feel a lot heavier.

They spend the evening having short conversations, look at each other to see if the other has something to say and sip on the glass of water to quench their unparched throat. They do this so often that both of them excuse themselves to go to the washroom. Laila spend time a little bit longer  in the washroom. She will check her very light makeup, her outfit, she wash her hands really slowly - basically she will do anything to spend time alone in the washroom.

Laila didn't know what to say to him and vice versa. She can see Azhar is as awkward as she is - not knowing what to say without hurting the other party. She feel sorry for her boyfriend - she can see he is in dilemma whether to side with her sister or her girlfriend. Laila try her best to be cheerful, maybe more cheerful that she normally was. She know this because Azhar gave her a weird look when her voice became high pitched trying to sound happier.

Should they take a break or should just they keep on having dates until the awkwardness between them suddenly disappears?

She wonder.

Hope run to Laila the moment she open her bedroom door. Laila pick her up and sit on the beautiful carpeted area. She put aside her silver clutch and play with hope for a while. She talk to Hope about her date and her boyfriend. The very awkward date - one she sure do not want to experience ever again especially with Azhar. By the end of the date, she almost wanted to cry but decided to hold her tears instead.

Hope meows and purring give Laila the calming effect that she needed. She cuddle with her Hope until she fall asleep on the floor.

It is three in the morning and Laila just had her shower. She woke up feeling groggy and left Hope on the carpeted floor to shower. Her hair is still wet and she is in her oversized t-shirt that says Beach. She is still quiet awake and begin to click away the travel websites and videos dreaming of her own dream vacation. Her calfskin journal are filled with all the places she wants to be. She draw sketches of simple doodles whenever she feels a little inspired or bored.

She spend the early Sunday morning dreaming of the perfect vacation.
