Hailey was mad. But Cap's face was even more red.
"We're at the lines.." Amari said in Twen's ear piece. "Come on, we can't let them be ahead for too long! They'll start running into guards.." Twen said to Hailey.
We started walking..
[At the tower]
We made it past the lines, then met them at the tower. We were at a short white brick wall, that was built to surround a tower.."Hailey!" "Amari! Why is this all taking so long?" "I don't know. We have the box, but we just need to take the tower down.." Amari explained more to Hailey, "We need to get a way inside!" We quietly walked down the wall, but I was surprised that there were no, "Guards!" Twen said quietly.
He had looked over the wall to see a few guards.. We walked more down, and saw the wall had an end. "Everybody down.." Hailey whispered. Everyone ducked, but I looked past the wall to see.. "Captain? Shoot?" Twen asked. "No, Casper will do that!" Hailey pushed Casper past the wall and the guards saw him.
They began shooting.
We made it inside..
"Now where's the signal?" Cap asked too casually. "Hey, look at this!" Fez said. "It's a letter?" Hailey questioned. I touched the red stamped eye on the front of the letter.. Hailey watched me. Amari rushed in with her gun. "There were some guards still outside!" She walked out.. Cap followed behind.
"We found the stairs!"
[ ..Upstairs ]
"Twen?" Twen shook his hands, breaking a lock on the door that led to the floor above. We walked around.. There were two small windows. I peeked my head out of one, to look down at the ground. No one was there.
"I've tried, I can't open it! It's locked!" Twen said, trying to open a locked door with Fez.. They stopped and looked over at me! I don't know what they expected..
Cap went downstairs..
"Zero?" "Yeah, I'm checking the code!" Zero said to Hailey, while he was sitting down at a computer. "Zero, we don't have the time!" "It says invalid!" He squeaked. "What? Tell me the code, I'll type it in!" Hailey said, leaning over typing into the computer. "Zero, five, eight!" The invalid tab popped up. "What!" She exclaimed. "There is other computers here.. You can try trying that one!" Fez said to them, pointing his gun at the next computer. "Invalid!" Amari said while sitting at another. The very last computer read invalid too.
"Shit!" Hailey cursed out. "Zero!" she shouted. Cap came back up the stairs, out of breath.. He blurted out, "There's still guards outside!" With time running out Casper said, "Maybe there is no code!" They all looked over at him confused.
Cap ran back down the stairs.
Hailey peeked outside of the window. "There's too many of them.." she said as Twen and Fez left to go outside too. "We'll make them come in.." Amari said. Hailey nodded her head, throwing a smoke bomb outside of the window. It was poisonous! She didn't even let her teammates, who were still outside, know what was going on! Cap rushed inside. "Hailey, you crazy bitch!" A guard followed him, but he quickly turned to shoot the guard!
"Access granted!"
The code worked! Zero connected his tablet to the computer. Twen ran up the stairs. "It's online!" Zero said to Twen. They started cheering. "Do you have the data?" Hailey asked. "I do have data but I don't have the data Myers wanted.." Zero said typing back into the computer.
Cap heard a gun shot down stairs, and ran to see who it was.. Hailey followed and I came right after.
Downstairs was empty. "The hell?" Henry said, making Haiiey notice he was there. "Check outside!" Hailey said to Casper. I looked outside and no one was there, just smoke..
We went back up.
"The code is almost done.. Zero is just tracing the missing data!" Amari said to Hailey. "I still couldn't find the stolen data from the League that Myers wanted." Hailey looked over at me, then looked back at Zero, "Then leave it! Now the code is done we can leave."
She walked down the stairs.
..
Outside was full of white smoke. Hailey walked out and I held my breath. "It's not poisonous anymore.. it only last a few minutes, but the smoke stays.." I could hardly see past it. Amari and Zero followed us..A gunshot hit Zero in the chest. He fell. They rushed to him.
"Clear!" Twen said, while running through the smoke to us. He could see Zero on the floor. Hailey was on her knees with tears in her eyes. She couldn't let him go and she wouldn't let her tears come out.. Amari tried to help her stop the bleeding. "If you ask me, this whole thing is rigged!" Cap said to me loud enough for them to hear. I didn't even see him walk up to me. "Rigged?" I asked. "Why would they send us in a tower with no missing data, to find it? They're probably just tryna kill us.."
"Casper!" Amari called me over.
She got off her knees and stood next to me. "Don't listen to him.. Cap just likes to hear himself talk." She smiled at me nervously. I watched Hailey close Zero's eyes.. Hailey spoke into her watch telling the plane to come over. "When the bomb drops they scatter!" Cap said smiling. Hailey looked up at him angry. "Let's catch the plane.." Amari told Hailey.
We left Zero there..
..
Amari was having a quiet conversation with Hailey. Everyone was walking up ahead from us.. That left me and Cap together. "What did you mean by that?" I asked him. He laughed. "I told you the mission was rigged! Do you remember that.. the first time I really told you?"[The explosion]
Smoke was everywhere. The blue sky was now covered in grey.. And a ringing in my ears- My hearing was gone!
"HAILEY GET UP!" I turned my head to see Twen screaming at Hailey's body on the floor. I looked back up at the sky and saw smoke disappear from the trees.. A plane flew over..
"Casper get up!" Twen screamed to me. He pulled me up by my vest, and I stood up the rest of my way, catching my balance.
Hailey was over his shoulder.
