Chapter 30: Myers Games

The team got off the plane. They were home.

Amari walked right past them without saying goodbye.

"What's wrong with her?" "Her uncle died." Heelix answered Casper.

Casper thought to himself..

He freaked out again.

"No! Heelix! MY SISTER!" Casper screamed in the middle of the hall.

Amari walked back.

"Henry, your sister is fine!" Heelix said.

"But Myers-" "I swear. I made sure the day before the mission." Henry was still worried with tears in his eyes. He was really crying. "But Myers won't let anyone talk to her!" "I have connections Casper.." Casper looked up with his eyes full of tears. "And I'll make sure again after.." "But Heelix." Henry whimpered. "I know Henry.." Henry dropped to the floor quietly sobbing as Heelix held him tight in his arms. Henry rocked himself back and forth like a baby.

They came to the locker rooms to get changed. Heelix wanted to sit down to talk with Henry.

"Why Sammy? What did I do to deserve this? I wasn't involved." Casper said low in his now
raspy voice from crying. "What does Michael have against me? Can you tell me?" He asked desperately.

"It's a lot to remember Casper.." Heelix said, drinking his beer.

"He was my friend." Casper said hurt.

"He was going to die anyway!" Heelix snapped.

"Why would he have died? No more secrets Heelix!" Casper screamed in Heelix's face!

"Because he already gave himself away to you! He put us all at risk! Myers was watching!"  Heelix screamed back.

Casper screamed and pushed Heelix to provoke him to fight.

"Kill me like you killed my friend!"

"I can't!" "WHY?" "Because MYERS IS WATCHING!"

Amari walked in.

"What are you doing in the men's locker room? It's MEN ONLY!"

"Then what are you doing here?" Amari was being funny.

"You didn't have to kill him." She spoke softly, resting her head on the door frame.

Heelix stood up and walked towards her.

Then he yelled..

"No matter what is going on in war we are not allies to them!" "War?" Henry questioned. "I said fight." Heelix snapped to Henry.

He turned back to Amari..

"Don't question my actions as someone who works with Myers! I have a higher authority above you!"

"So what? Are you threatening me to go back to Mexico where I was safe?" "Your family is dead! Get the wake up call! NO ONE is safe in either or League!" He snapped his fingers in Amari's face disrespectfully.

"It's like our captain all over again. Don't question his actions." Henry said, provoking Heelix again.

Amari walked out.

"Then why did you kill him Heelix?" "I had to Casper. Myers was watching. He wanted us to make amends with our rivals, that would rig the mission." "But there weren't even supposed to be people on the island." "Doesn't matter they're still rivals." Casper still couldn't understand. "We had to show our loyalty to Myers." "We didn't prove anything. All we did is SHOW him that we're puppets.."

Casper went in closer to his face.

"And murderes.."

Myers was testing them all.

But Casper was angry!

Casper went to visit Myers.

He slammed his door open but no one was there in his office.

An unfamiliar telephone on his desk.

"Hello Myers.." Henry said in a low unpleasant voice.

His hand that held the telephone, shook from being enraged.

"WHY! Why did you punish me WHEN YOU KNOW I DID NOTHING?!"

(Henry waits for Myers to speak)

"Don't take it too personally Henry. I had to punish all of you." "Why.. when you said that WE were friends?" "Do you remember?" Myers asked calmly. "No.. Because IT NEVER HAPPENED!" He screamed. Henry switched the phone to his other ear when it got too sweaty. "I tell you everything, Myers. Why me? WHY PUNISH ME?!" "I never repeat what I say Henry." "-I'm not scared of you!" "Is that a threat?"

Henry was too angry in that moment to answer..

"Understand that it was a simple test.. It was never personal." "Well FUCK YOU and your tests!" He slammed the phone to the desk.

A dent was left in Myers' wooden desk that day.

Henry didn't expect for his honesty to be tested.

..But he wasn't honest.  He didn't tell Myers everything. He didn't tell Myers about the plan to escape.
