Chapter 45: All is forgiven

Henry woke up at Katherine's house feeling euphoric.

The sun had shone.

The dogs were out.

And it was a beautiful day outside.

Mono had given Henry her answer.

She wanted Henry around.

Katherine was still in bed.

He talked to her.

"I'm not trying to get over my head though I just wanna know what she means by she wants me around.. I don't wanna be some idiot zombie to her again.. I want her to see I'm worth it, but I guess not to overthink it anymore.."

Katherine's back was facing him.

"Someone as unpredictable as her.. she could change her mind."

Henry thought of what a woman would then ask.

"Well her exact words were.. 'You can stay."
I don't know, I'm not into titles anyway."

Katherine didn't wake up from his incessant chatter.

He held her sister's picture.

"You gonna wake up Kat?" He went over to her bedside.

Katherine was lifeless.

Henry looked at her chest exposed from her lace top.

She was still.

He checked her pulse.

Henry took a second to think.

This could just be one of his episodes.

For a moment that was so real, didn't feel real.

He calmly dialed 911.

"Hi, hello, I think my friend died.. She's in bed not breathing.. she's already on her side.."

Henry gave the address. He hung up.

He studied Katherine's pale face.

He couldn't see a difference between her dead and when she was alive. She was dying the whole time.

He picked up her lifeless arm to see her cuts and bruises.

Henry didn't do what the doctors told him to, to check her eyes to see if they rolled back.

Katherine could have been dead the whole night.

"Henry!" Heelix ran up to hug Henry.

He gave the longest hug ever.

"How are you?" Henry looked blank. "How is she?" Henry didn't answer. "Well you shouldn't wait here. You can live at home now or you can live with Jade." Henry looked at the lavender walls. "You know, Alice never got the chance to be in a hospital when she died. I never got the chance to wonder if she'd make it."

Helix felt Henry's never ending sorrow was about to end up in another long winded sob story.

"She just died." "I don't think this is a good place for you to be."

Heelix patted Henry's shoulder, Henry brushed him off.

"My emerald!" Artemis shot up.

(Flashback)

"You never fail to astonish me." He gave a wistful smile. "And I do not plan to do so. Do not continue to be surprised by my elusive charms.. I do worry my beauty one day will overwhelm you and send you into a state of shock!"
