"..detached limbs, headless bodies.."

Henry was flipping through endless articles he stole all on her.

But none of it was about her.

It was just about the monster.

They didn't talk about her.

The way she spoke to Henry at the funeral.

The way she looked at Henry last night.

Where Mono went wrong is thinking Henry couldn't see past.. the compulsion. Since then her compulsion weakened; it was just Henry acting out on his own free will.

Love.

"Mi amor, mi amor! Where are you headed?" "Lunch" Heelix pulled out a rose. "For you! To give to whoever you please. Don't worry I just sent my wife a dozen.." "If you're hoping to get Valentines Day off you should send these to Myers." Heelix winked walking happily away.

"And happy birthday Heelix!" Heelix beamed.

Love was in the air.

It was Valentine's Day.
..
"And that's why I-"

Blonde hair?

Streaks of blood?

Red highlights in her hair that were the streaks of blood..

Puddles of blood and envy.

"Henry?!" "Huh?"

"I've been talking to ya for the last half an hour and you still haven't said anything.."

Henry looked vacant.

Cap paid attention closer to Henry's eyes to see he wasn't even there.. They were just full of nothing like Henry was a soulless zombie.

"What are you so fixated on Henry?"

Henry was still thinking of her.
..
She smelled like-

Roses!

He smelled like-

Henry handed her a meat shaped into a heart.

"I'm vegan.."

He held it out for her.

"I said no," she said with disgust.

Henry couldn't be compelled.

She just walked away.

Life just suddenly became more beautiful.
..
"Or you like being killed? You and the monster you're getting awfully close to.. You're not scared she's gonna.. bite you?" Henry smirked. He took Cap's worry as a compliment of how fearless he was and returned to playing the video game.

"Henry, I'm worried for you."

Henry stopped to look over to Cap.

"I know," he said.
..
The possibility. That was what Henry was fixated on.

"Let's get your swimsuit!" Cap shouted to Henry.

They were on a sea mission.

"Why did Genny sneak into your apartment?" "I don't know but I think she wanted to warn me about Mono." "And you're still getting close to her?!"

Henry looked at Cap befuddled.

"I just don't get how you like someone who doesn't really align with your sensitive morals." "What morals do I have?"

"Deporting in ten" the captain called out.

Cap looked at Henry's suit.

"You're not really much of a swimmer, are you?" "No, that was Sam."
..
She'd be the only thing to keep my head above water.

But I don't think she'd ever save me from drowning.

I love the feeling of not knowing what she'll do next when it comes to me.

She could be unpredictable.

My bubbles float to the surface from a lack of oxygen.

Her blonde hair flying in the blue sky.

She's swimming towards me. She didn't forget about me.

Alice?!

Henry screams.

"Get your head out the water!" The captain yelled at Henry.

Cap rolled his eyes at Henry.

They were out at sea looking for sediments to bring back to the League's laboratory.

"In the name of science, please Henry find what the fuck you came here for and leave that girl out your head." Henry ignored Cap.

He looked up to the sun.

He ran through the wheat field as fast as his little feet could keep up.

He was five again.

A black cow stood in the middle of the field.

The sky grew red.

The sun was setting.

"Henry!" His mother's voice.

He was at base.

Where did the time go?

"It's not a mystery how we create things in the name of science Henry."

"You ok pal?" asked Cap.

Henry was lost. He lost track of time.

"Where did you go?"
..
Henry was in a bed.

He woke up to find rose petals all around him on the gold sheets.

The balcony door was open.

"Do you ever wonder how things could have ended differently if you just changed your mind?"

She was dressed in a white gossamer dress.

"How did you even get through today? Do you just force yourself to forget things?"

A pink crape myrtle tree grew outside of her balcony that made it really look like I was admiring a painting.

Her blonde bouncy curls held back by a single seashell clip.

I remembered.

I gave her the seashell I found in the ocean.

It had just floated in the water to me.

She looked at me with discernment, but I felt this compassion come from her and this love just poured out of her heart.

Something very divine bloomed that day.
