"Casper! We've been waiting! Let's get him suited!" "What's your name?" I asked. "Rosetta!" she laughed. She was the lady I had met on my last mission and the lady who had forced me to wear this stupid suit! "Casp?" "Heelix?" We hugged it out. Heelix and I had our differences in the past but we fixed what we could.. I guess our disputes were just over differences. There were two girls standing there looking at me..
Norwegian girls.
"Are they outside members?" I was asking if they were people from the other part of the LEAGUE that our side doesn't mess with.. They could have been traders that were willing to work for us, or they could have been captured by us. "That's Anette, and that one's name is Astrid!" Her teeth on the side were sharpened down to look like fangs. I could see that when she smiled at me. "Not a shapeshifter man. Just weird!"
"Sector seven, please make your way to the shuttles.."
"Why are we going all the way upstairs?" "Uh It's a short trip!" Heelix answered. We were taking the trains.. Rosetta came up to me before we could leave, "Good Luck!" She wished me.
I didn't take it with me.
[..The train ride ]
The whole ride, Heelix just kept going on about his new house and how when he got home he was going to buy himself a new car! He kept talking my ear off, deciding between a Maserati and the latest Tesla. I never kept up with my leg, but I was put back on a cast, even though I could walk perfectly normal.. I just still couldn't run as well. No one was on the train to help me with my leg because of the mission being assigned at the last minute. Heelix even told me he was informed in the morning and transferred here to be with me..What if my leg started to hurt? What if I needed painkillers? I tried avoiding thinking of bad situations because I wasn't even sure of the situation I was in. Again I didn't know what this mission was. And I tried avoiding staring at Astrid's teeth for too long.. but every time she'd catch me staring she'd bite down hard with a grin! Maybe she thought it scared me or something, like I would imagine her biting my head off. Once Heelix realized I was never interested in his greed and shut up, I eventually let my eyes drift away..
And of course, Mono was reading a book called, "The fastest way to kill a Someone, And Why, but how?" It spelled out "SAW'' I guess I started to realize she just seemed to be an empty psychopathic killer with issues still present and lingering from her childhood. That explained the axe and bloody nightgown! The typical blonde who loves education, but isn't well educated enough to know when to get help, and instead chooses to be crazy. She was a traumatized little girl living in an adult body who chose to traumatize others because of her own childhood traumas none of us had put her through. But I still think she wouldn't have killed me.
This girl came and sat next to her. She had short brown hair and she was brown, she looked mexican. They acted like they knew each other. She was talking about something serious while Mono was still pretending to read. The same page.. She looked concerned but Mono didn't even seem to care, she just kept reading. "Mono, this is serious!" she said out loud. And then she made the mistake of shutting her book. "Did you just?-" "If this doesn't go well, then we have no chance of-" She looked at me.. watching them two.
Mono sighed, "Sighing in distress.. I'm held prisoner by an awfully, rather familiar, annoying prescience.." "Mono!" "I heard you tell me it all the way from base! I'll do what I'm supposed to.." She went back to reading. The girl now seemed too annoyed with her. They went back to talking, I could still hear them. I just didn't care what they were talking about.. It wasn't too important anyway! Mono acted as if she didn't want the world to wonder about her.. Or for the whole world to question her!
"Two hours till the intended destination.."
"Who's equipped on here?" I usually asked. "The sister.." Heelix pointed to Anette. "Raphael.." "Mono?" "Mon?" "What can she do?""Why are you so worried about her?" I wasn't. "She can eat people!" He said jokingly. I laughed with him, knowing he was serious. He continued telling me who on the team had supernatural abilities. "I just needed to know who we could count on!" Heelix laughed at me. "Having a super strength doesn't mean you can just rely on that one person! Plus it's always more of a mental strength before any physical capabilities! Smarts.. than speed! You gotta think of where you're going before you just run there, Don't you?"
I laughed too.. But I was laughing at him! He had the same argument everytime. Heelix was just a normal guy, who just had a really smart brain. That was his superpower. "Deportation completed.. You have arrived at your destination!" "I never thought of it that way.." I fake told him acting as if I understood.
"Now to whoever isn't aware, Hello, I'm the captain. I know that word doesn't mean much when you don't have a great team! We're all here because we all want to better our lives and ourselves! A way to provide more for our families through our gifts! So thank you all for coming here and for who has been here on a short notice.."
Yeah, like we had a choice.
"Thank you Heelix!" Heelix gave a quick akward salute. "Are you gonna tell us your name?" I asked slightly irked.
"Geneviene!"
We walked off the plane.
We were in this cloudy gray smoke and everyone started coughing. "Masks!" Geneviene called out. This captain cared. "The smoke is the only poison!" What a great captain to tell us about the poisonous smoke when we were already inhaling it.
Trees were all around us as we walked further.
We were in the jungle.
