I remember that day. I remember when she saved me.

"And what is your relation to Henry?"

She stared at me inconsolable from across the courtroom

(A dinner party)

"Katherine!" She beamed. "Henry?" She looked up and down at my fatuous attire.

"Who dragged you out here?" "Alice, but she's having a talk with Myers."

We stood still for a second then remembered to hug.

We smiled at each other's content.
..
We had small conversations.

"That's when Ashley told me you guys would narcotize on missions. Is that true?"

Henry's face became as stern as Myers. Katherine froze in anxiety, regretful she felt comfortable enough to repeat something she wasn't supposed to hear.

"I'm joking," he said, breaking the tension. Katherine laughed, feeling relieved. "Thought about becoming a psychiatrist?" "No, I can't deal with people's problems. I can't even deal with my own."

We sat laughing then an expected silence came between us.

Her anxiety took over. I paid attention to her stare down into her glass of champagne, still keeping an awkward smile. She rested her scrawny arms on the table.

"But no he's great! I met him in nursing school." She continued the talk we had earlier while still looking down in her glass. "How's that going?" "Training to be a nurse? It's great I uh I love it. Little me would be proud." She finally looked at me with a smile.

Henry became disinterested, looking around.

"I love nursing. I love helping people."

"Think that's why I always liked you because you remind me enough of Alice. You both love fixing what's wounded."

She was merry but perturbed at the same time. She crossed her legs in her chair and turned to me.

"I don't think you're wounded Henry. I think you're unique." "Is that because of my strength?" "No. It's because of who you are. I remember meeting that sweet boy everytime I look at you."

My face contorted in a rictus of agony because I knew she was speaking from her heart. I knew that boy she saw in me was something I couldn't find in myself.

I played with the ruffles on her dress that landed on her knees.

She smirked so silly.

This is the Katherine I remember. She's pure.

I was fortunate to have her.

We were proud of each other. So proud of how far we've come.

I disappointed her then I made grief consume her.

"We should not despair." Myers voice rang through my ears.

I ruined her, but now she's sorry.

Katherine was gracious with me.
..
"But they're not actual sisters. Not blood related?"

Helix sat his glasses on the table.

"So now Michael has his 'men," he quotated, "spying on us?" "Since when did this concern you?" "Since I was BORN!" Cap shouted with a vein pulsing through his neck.

"It seems like me and Ajita have some catching up to do." Helix put his glasses on and stood up to leave.
..
The ringing surged in Henry's ears.

Voices raced through his mind.

Katherine's.

Mono's.

Myers.

He held on to his ears almost falling to his knees.

He hit his head over again with his fist until the pain became unbearable.

Then grabbed a medal fork to stab his ears repeatedly until they bled down to his neck.
..
Henry opened his eyes seeing a blurry Heelix stand in front of him.

"The acetaminophen is going to keep your vision blurry."

But an injured Henry couldn't hear Heelix.

"Oh right. You can't hear me." Heelix wrote a message down on a piece of paper, gave it to Henry, then snatched it back when he remembered Henry couldn't see either.

"Here." He stuffed it in his jeans pocket. "You can read it later."

Jade walked in.

"Henry?"

Henry began to seize.
..
"What's causing the seizures?" "It's memory loss." Heelix responded to Jade.

A whole day must have passed. They were in different clothes.

They noticed the waking Henry.

"Henry.."

All he could hear was the sound of their voices. Not words.

"Henry, you've been in and out of sleep for three weeks.. You've been having seizures every day. They've just stopped this week."

"Let's just get him home."

"Henry, you can be released now. Jade is going to bring you home. You'll have a doctor living with you and I'm sure Jade will make herself welcome."
..
Jade helped him home.

"Here you go Henry. Take two of these every morning and then two a night. You have your doctor in the next room to give them to you but you should feel some sort of control.. and you have me Henry. I'm always here for you." She sat down on the couch to hug a demented Henry.

Then kissed the bandages covering his ears.

"I know you still can't hear Henry, but I want you to stay away from Mono."

She frowned.

"I'd help you to your bed but I know you have a thing with closed rooms.. I'll just be back real soon tonight.. Earlier than you think! I just have a few things to tie up."
..
Henry gazed outside his window at the night sky.

Then remembered.

He dug into his jeans pocket to find the note.

"The memories are real"
