"This can't be the music you listen to."

Henry turned down the indie music.

"Why do you have to keep the same perception of me?" "Because I'm attentive to you.. I still have a brain of my own. I can use that brain to better understand you."

He studied her looking in the mirror perfecting her image.

"What made you cling on to Heelix and the rest of them? Why make them as friends?"

"They're more like acquaintances." She said switching out her necklace for the next.

"So Amari was your only friend?"

She turned around to give an annoyed look at the hopeless romantic, Henry laid on her bed.

Then stood still when she heard him.
..
Heelix turned around. He was headed to her apartment.

Mono was surprised but reached out to almost grab his hand to say something.

"What?!" He turned asking rudely.

"How? How do I do it without growing an attachment too?" "You have a god awful habit of that." "Just tell me how!" "How about you go ask your divine counterpart!"

"Heelix! I have a bad habit of.." She scrunched up her face, bothered to admit a weakness of her's.. "Being too sure of the things I want. I might realize later.. I don't want them anymore. It's too hard for me to compromise."

"You're just selfish."

She was unnerved. He pointed at her.

"You have a habit of making promises and never delivering."

"You have a habit of choosing your loved ones over what it is you really want." She swiftly said.

"I almost lost my family because of you!"

"It was nothing you didn't want to do."

"If you have to trick someone into doing what it is you need by manipulating and being deceitful that doesn't give them much free reign to make their own choice if it's all based on lies."

She vexed him.

"You're a sweet nothing. Keep having that serf revere the grounds you walk on until he realizes you aren't all you profess to be. If you ask me you both are a match made in heaven.. If you have morals then you have your answer there. At least one of you has an active conscience."

He almost had second thoughts before making her aware of this.. "And when it comes to Henry, have a little bit more discernment this time."

He sauntered down the hall.

"Heelix.. I was with him because I saw a light at the end of the tunnel."

He peered at her, trying to see past his judgment.

"That light at the end of the tunnel was a train, be wiser."

He left.
..
"There's no compromising with you. Is there?"

Henry could see Mono was lost in thought. Maybe depressed.

He watched her let her ice cream melt.

They had already spent all morning together.

"How about I grab you another ice cream but cookies and cream gelato with a bright red cherry on top?"

Mono just looked at him apathetic.

She softly rolled her eyes, feeling sullen again.

"Stay here." She said faintly getting up for the bathroom.
