The New Year came and went, bringing a new freshness into Michael and Sonia's marriage. Sonia apologized for asking for divorce and adjusted back to her old life. She slowly begin to smile again, laugh and give life a second chance. When Michael would come back from work, she would welcome him with different dishes she tried out with their cook, who was employed after the accident. She made life beautiful once again and opened her heart to him. She became overly friendly with Mrs. Rogers, running with the motto, "Never again."

On their First Year Anniversary, she surprised the entire family as she walked on her two feet without the crutches she was using. The entire family was overjoyed as they came together to celebrate the day.

"I love you baby. You are a fighter!!!" Michael whispered into her ear as tears of joy cascaded his face.

"I know Michael, I know."

After the guests left, Michael requested for the attention of their parents and siblings.

"Sonia and I are expecting again!"

Everyone's mouth flew open all at once.

Sonia broke into a triumphant smile and received the hugs that came with gratitude. The enemy had failed over her life. She might have lost her first child, but she lives to carry another heir for Michael.

Mrs. Moses walked up to Michael's mother and congratulated her.

"God has done it again. We should celebrate and be glad."

Mrs. Rogers' nonchalant response sent shock waves through Sonia's mother.

"I am glad, I only wish it could have been Tiffany and not this home wrecker before me." She walked away before questions could be fired at her for being herself.

Mrs. Moses became worried and began to contemplate asking her daughter to let her marriage go and stay alive with her unborn child. But she promised herself not to let Sonia know about what just transpired so that she stay healthy and worry free.

In order to keep a close eye on things, Mrs. Rogers offered to stay with her son and his wife a month before her delivery date, so that when the baby comes, everything was ready for him or her. Upon her arrival, two weeks after the announcement, she arrived. She got inside the house and was incensed to find the couple doing dishes together, laughing, making cute jokes and blowing bubbles at each other. She swallowed the rage building up inside and greeted them.

"Mum, you are welcome." Sonia bent her knees a little to greet her. Mrs. Rogers embraced her and scolded her for trying to kneel.

"You both make such a beautiful couple. You remind me of Mr. Rogers and I when we first got married."

The two busted into laughter and welcomed her.

"Thank you for coming to stay with us. I really appreciate it Mum." Michael said with delight.

"Have you eaten dinner Sonia?"

"Yes Mum."

"That's okay. I brought a 5 litre chocolate and vanilla Ice-Cream. Let's have some to our heart's content."

Sonia squealed with joy and quickly took out some ice-cream bowls.

"Thank you so much for bringing this over. Michael kept refusing to buy me some, claiming healthy eating. I was craving for this so badly Mum. You are a lifesaver!"

Mrs. Rogers blew Sonia a kiss,

"I am here now and you will eat everything you desire."

"Yes!!!"

Michael folded his arms across his chest,

"So, you guys are ganging up against me right? Is it because Dad is not here? Don't worry, my son will be born soon and you my dear wife will be outnumbered."

Sonia and Mrs. Rogers exchanged a knowing look and busted into laughter.

"Don't mind him. Jealousy baby."

Sonia carried her bowl of Ice-Cream and sat down majestically on the sofa in their living room to enjoy herself.

"Bad Daddy." She said as she tuck out her tongue at Michael.

Michael sat down next to her with his own bowl and pretended to be offended.

"Michael, you are being a baby right now." His mother reprimanded him.

Sonia cleaned her bowl well with her teaspoon and moved closer to Michael. She made her signature puppy eyes at him.

"You can take my bowl." Michael said in surrender.

"I don't want your bowl. I want a kiss." She said with a big grin.

Michael smiled broadly and gave her a chaste kiss since his mother was there.

"I love you." She said and got up. She was a full eight months gone but her tummy was tiny, hiding her pregnancy well. She gained little weight and glowed like a bride adorned for her husband.

Mrs. Rogers kissed her son on the cheeks,

"I am proud of you son. I am really proud of you."

Later that night, as the couple prepared to go to bed, they did their night devotion and prayed. Just when Sonia decided to go undercover. Michael asked to speak with her for a bit.

"You are the most beautiful pregnant woman I've ever seen."

"I know!" She gloated shamelessly.

He laughed and took her hands in his,

"Sonia, thank you so much for getting along with Mum. I am really proud of you."

"It's so beautiful to live in peace Michael. I love how we all are now. Imagine, we will be holding our baby on our second year anniversary."

Michael came closer to her and whispered in her ear, "Maybe, we will be expecting another one by that time."

Sonia laughed and clapped her hands dramatically.

"Mr. Rogers Junior, you will carry that pregnancy by yourself. So because I am a slaying preggy queen, you want to send me on another journey ehn! Go to sleep."

Michael smiled broadly and kissed her on the forehead.

"Sleep well in the arms of Jesus darling." Sonia said as she closed her eyes.

"You too darling."
