Mrs. Rogers was in her garden sipping wine from a golden glass and reading a magazine. Her husband and daughter were inside the mansion, enjoying each other's company. Since Michael's death, she had no peace of mind. Every day she tries to convince herself that his death was not her fault. She closed the magazine as she saw that Sonia's car entered the compound.
"What does that witch want now?" She asked with a roll of her eyes. Her blood was already boiling.
Her heart almost stopped when the two men that worked with Jakes Olumide confessed to be his accomplices. She was so scared they would mention her as the person who hired them for the job, and also for the assault on Caroline. At the trial, the men did not do as much as breathe her name.
Sonia walked towards her, but not alone. She was with a tall dark man she could not recognize, and with two men that were in Julianna's office the day Sonia came to appreciate her for restoring her father's business, but only to recognize them as the men who set his store on fire. Both men were handcuffed to each other.
Sonia smiled brightly when she reached her mother-in-law.
"Hello sweet mother. I came to show off your hoodlums before the police could have them. They are here to say 'goodbye' to their owner."
Mrs. Rogers stood up abruptly, causing her to spill wine on her white agbada dress.
She looked around, hoping that her husband and daughter were out of sight and out of earshot.
"Sonia!"
"Yes, Mummy." Sonia replied with a cute face.
Julianna Rogers walked up to the guys and slapped them.
"Imbeciles! Fools!"
Sonia ignored her drama. "I have their confessions recorded, but the cute thing is that they won't reveal who sent them. Was it Benjamin, or was it you, Julianna?" She took a look around and then began to walk round her mother in-law.
"You haven't dropped dead yet. You are not going to prison, because prison is too good a place for a celebrity like you. Fear and anxiety will kill you slowly but surely. Don't try to harm me Julianna, I have friends in high places like you too." She folded her arms across her chest and looked at her intently.
"That reminds me of something interesting." Sonia's face brightened. "I have dinner tonight with the son of the Honourable Chief Segun Daramola."
"Don't you dare Sonia! I have him in mind for Margaret!"
Sonia's face turned angry.
"Margaret and I may not see eye to eye right now but I love her and I won't let you send that innocent girl into misery like you did to Michael and I. Shawn and I are in the same age group Julianna! Why would you want to tie your daughter to one of the most eligible bachelors in Nigeria? That could be dangerous Julianna."
"Get out!" Mrs. Rogers ordered.
"Many single ladies in Nigeria want Shawn, you know." She laughed briefly and added,
"You should tell your perfect husband about your atrocities before someone else does." She said her goodbyes and left with the men.
"Detective, get rid of these men. I'm sure our guys at the Station are already waiting for them."
Later that say, Sonia sat back and enjoyed the rest of her day with her guests. She was happy the evil reign of Julianna Rogers was about to end. Julianna must feel the same fear, pain and despair she has been dished severally. Sonia later prepared herself for her date after Georgina left. She had accepted Shawn's invitation just for two reasons: to spite Julianna Rogers and ensure that Margaret does not end up being used by her mother for the latter's political ambitions. She was dead sure that gossip magazines will pick up their date and publish it for all to see.
