The next morning, there was still no report from the private investigator. Sonia could not eat breakfast, so she went to work right after dressing up, even though it was a Saturday. She had called her PA and requested her to come to help out for half the day. She will get paid overtime. Stella happily agreed. Immediately Sonia got to work, the private investigator called.
"What took you so long?" She demanded.
"I am sorry Madam. Your child was at the orphanage."
Sonia's heart sank and began to pound against her chest.
"Was? What do you mean 'was?"
"Your husband hired a private nanny, rented a house and placed the baby in her care."
"Alright, so where is the nanny and my son?" She added the last word with a lot of force.
The line went quiet.
"Where did she take my son?" She shouted in frustration.
"Mr. Rogers left no address because he promised to take the child after some months. I am very sorry Madam."
The phone fell from Sonia's hands, and landed on the carpeted floor, causing it to go off.
"No, my son. My baby." She whispered as tears began to roll down her face. She felt light and helpless suddenly. She picked the phone and switched it back on. She dialed her therapist's number and when it went through, said almost in a whisper,
"Dr... I need to see you. Help me." The phone fell from her hands again.
"My baby. My baby."
That moment, Stella came in, because she heard her boss scream.
"Madam!" She cried.
Sonia was on the floor, looking far away, and tears running endlessly down her face. She eventually passed out, causing Stella to call for help and an ambulance.

"I will walk in through there, so make sure the lights are on me." Mrs. Rogers instructed the planner. Her party would start in few hours and she wanted everything to be in order. She was glad that Remi was still in police custody and in few weeks' time, she will be arraigned before a judge to begin the case against her. Some reporters had come to take pictures for their respective media houses. And it was an opportunity to do some damage to her ex-best-friend's name.
The chief security officer of the mansion rushed in.
"Madam, Gerald Charleston is here!" He announced.
"Let him in. I was expecting him anyway, although, not this early." Julianna replied arrogantly.
The youngest son of Remi Charleston walked into the party hall. He greeted her properly and she air-kissed him. He was age mate with Margaret and he was one of the bachelors she had in mind for her before the evil act of his mother. It would have been two great families and business empires merging perfectly.
"Oh Gerald darling, I am so sorry about your dear mother. Can you believe what happened? At first I thought, someone set her up, but the evidences against her were just so heavy!" She feigned concern and Gerald read through her accurately.
"That is why I am here. I need you to reconsider taking this case to court."
Mrs. Rogers looked at the handsome young child before him and shook her head in disagreement.
"Reconsider a state case? It is out of my hands Gerald and you know it!"
"My brothers and I are ready to pay the cost of all you've lost. We just want everything to run smoothly."
