"I'm spending the night with you darling, I hope you are happy about that." Tayo, Mr. Ajayi's fiancé said seductively. She had refused severally to cohabit because they were unmarried, but her fiancé Seun Ajayi had protested, and told her they were about to get married anyway and it wouldn't be a sin. So she convinced herself that one night wouldn't hurt as they were about to get married anyway. Besides, everyone else is doing it. The lovebirds were watching a movie together in his three-bedroom apartment, snuggling and finding every opportunity to make out. They were both enjoying the moment, but few minutes into the movie, they heard a knock.

"Expecting someone?" Tayo asked.

"No, but I'll check." He stood up and went to the door. He opened it and right before him stood a very tall and large man who pushed him back inside, making him fall flat on his bottom. Right behind him was another man in a three-piece black Dolce and Gabbana suit. He was a dark, handsome young man that looked everything intelligence and wealth. More importantly, he was Sonia's lawyer.

After ten minutes of a stare down competition and silence, the large man stood up and gave Mr. Ajayi a brain resetting slap. His fiancé screamed but Barrister Tomiwa Bakare sent her a cold look that immediately silenced her.

"I don't understand why you have to force me to resort to violence to get the truth out of you." Barrister Tomiwa began to say. "Who sent you to ruin my client?"

Mr. Ajayi knew that question will not be repeated so calmly, so he responded immediately.

"I wanted revenge on her for humiliating me in front of the board and I was encouraged by Mr. Benjamin Owolafe to fix her." He replied quickly as he wiped blood from the corner of his mouth.

"You forged my client's signature didn't you?" Barrister Tomiwa asked with a menacing look.

"Yes, I got an expert to do it." He confessed.

Barrister Tomiwa stood up and adjusted his sleek black tie. "Thank you so much for your cooperation, and I do know that this will not come out from your mouth, else, it will not take long to ruin your pathetic life."

"What do you mean?" Mr. Ajayi asked.

Barrister Tomiwa gave him a small smile and replied, "I've got your confession dear Chief Accounting Officer. I'm sure you don't want it on social media."

Mr. Ajayi's mouth hung open in shame.

"You've been a great help. By the way, how much were you paid to perform such a cheap trick?"

"1 Million Naira."

Barrister Tomiwa shook his head and laughed briefly.

"What a low-life." He muttered under his breath and he left with his bodyguard.

Tayo rushed to the door and locked it, and went to check on her fiancé. He looked miserable and defeated. Surely, there will be no action that night.

After her name was dragged through the mud mercilessly, Sonia's name was cleared and she was praised for her patience and enduring spirit. Sonia was totally disgusted by people's hypocrisy, but she kept her calm. Yes, she took matter into her own hands, but it was her life and if she did not act, God might have taken longer. Her heart sank as she thought about her slow move away from God: He did not come through as He should and that was her biggest defence for her actions.

She also thought deeply about David, and knew he deserved to be happy. It was unreasonable that he would be waiting all through for a marriage with her that might never happen. Their friendship of more than 10 years came crashing down after Michael entered her life, surely it would have changed a little anyway because having a male bestie as a married woman would have been questionable. What had she gained from Michael coming into her life, except pain and suffering? She remembered her mother's words as she drove to meet her cousin to surprise her;
