CHAPTER THIRTY - FIVE

Sonia finally broke down as the policemen at the station questioned her after locking the other guy in jail and the other to the hospital. She shook for some minutes in shock before she could be calmed down. They brought her a bottle of water and asked one of the female officers to stay with her and console her. She left after all her family members have given their statements to the police.

Not long after she got back home, Dr. Gavin arrived. Sonia ran to hug her, and they were in each other's arms for a while as Sonia cried in her arms.

"My poor baby. This is too much! How are you?"

"I'll be okay. Just few scratches. What brings you here?" Sonia replied as she sat down.

"I was going through your medical records and I stumbled upon another doctor who helped you through your second miscarriage."

Sonia's face turned cold.

"So?" She asked artlessly.

"There was no record about your child's state of health and even his burial. I think there was foul play Sonia."

"You mean my son was murdered?" She blurted out.

The older woman hushed Sonia to silence.

"Where was your son buried?" Dr. Gavin asked.

Sonia shrugged.

"I don't know. Michael took care of everything. But I don't think it is far from Michael's own. I've never had the courage to check it out."

"Sonia," Dr. Gavin grabbed her hands.

"You have influence now and a lot of power too. Apply to the police to have the body exhumed."

Sonia pulled away.

"No way! I won't disrespect my son!" Sonia's eyes were fiery.

"Sonia, I'm saying this because the main Doctor that assisted you that period was strangely 'transferred' to the UK branch of the hospital. Even more, she just came back yesterday secretly to see her family and will be going back soon."

"Here," She handed Sonia a file.

"They said you miscarried and had a stillborn. Her flight is at 10pm in two days' time. Her address is in that file too. Sonia, I was never here to share this with you. Just see this as a favour from me to you as your family doctor." She left immediately thereafter.

Sonia's brain was running in her head. Another murder? What could be going on? Was it Julianna who murdered her child even though he survived the fall?

Sonia wasted no time to get the permission to exhume the grave of Michael Junior (JR). The news about her family's attempted assassination was all over the news too. People must think she was possessed with evil spirits. In less than five years, so many tragedies had befallen her. Who sent the men to kill her family?

Her brain switched again to the latest development.

What happened after the fall? Did JR survive and was later murdered? She was at this when Jerry Rogers entered her office. She stopped in her thoughts and looked up.

Sonia put on her best smile, even though she wanted to send him out. His family had brought her nothing but misery. But he was the only one who really stood by her and believed in her.

"You are welcome Sir." She said cheerfully as she stood up.

He cleared his throat and said, "This is not a pleasant visit Sonia. I'm here to request that you stop attacking my family."
