When I decided to publish "The Black Widow" in August, it felt I did so on impulse, but I was excited and worried. I was worried that I might not finish it, and by God's grace, I was able to complete it within three months (August 28 to November 28).
This book was birthed from a hidden desire to be as confident, empowered and smart as some of the women around me, and those I've seen on television or read about. I am someone who strongly dislikes oppression and injustice, and when I think about women who came out of such situations, it gives me confidence that there is hope for many women and girls out there that are downtrodden.
Sonia's story is just one of the thousands out there, and many women do not get to have a victorious or happy ending like she did, even though she went through many troubles too. It is my desire that this book will open our eyes to understanding God's plans for marriage, in-law relationships, friendships, and parenting, as well as His ultimate desire that we love one another as He does (John 13:34-35).
