A few days later, Sonia was regaining strength and was much more conscious. The first thing that she thought about was her son and she attempted to get up right away.

"You can't leave yet, Madam. Your vitals are still unstable." The Doctor attending to her said gently.

"I have to be home. I need to see my son." She replied.

"I know, but he is safe."

Sonia managed a smile.

"For a second, I thought it was all over. I thought I would never see JR ever again until the resurrection. I thought I wouldn't see his second birthday this December." Tears ran down her face.

"I thought I wouldn't be able to hear him speak fluently, hear his rich laughter or get to chastise him if he messes up the house or caution him so he wouldn't get hurt when he's playing. God has been so good to me."

"I am so glad that you are recovering well and out of danger completely. You should be home by the end of tomorrow."

"Really?"

"Yes Mrs. Rogers."

Her family arrived a couple of minutes later.

"Hi..." she greeted them.

"How are you, my angel?" Her father asked.

"Feeling as light as a feather, and nauseous, too."

"We couldn't bring JR because of security purposes. But the house is well secured." Her mother said with a smile as she took her hands and kissed them. "My poor baby..." She busted into tears.

"Please tell Mr. Rogers and Margaret to look after my son well..."

Her family exchanged a worried look.

"Doctor, what is wrong?" Kunle asked.

Sonia waved him to silence.

"I'm just worried about not been able to take care of him properly in my current condition."

Her mother slapped her hands away.

"Ouch! Mum, I'm a patient o."

"Patient my foot! Are we statutes that we can't look after our own grandchild properly?"

"No Mum. The more the merrier. The little guy has lived the past two years only seeing Mrs. Omolere and her family members only. Now, he is surrounded by a larger family. He needs all of us." she replied.

She sighed deeply and added, "I am really grateful that God kept him alive, and it is for a reason. God protected him after I had the fall, and He will continue to do so."

Sonia was not told about the new found revelations, so that it wouldn't affect her blood pressure. But, the truth must always find expression...

Her mother went back home to help with JR, while her father and brother remained. Whilst still there and were just about to leave because visiting time was almost over, Mr. Moses got a call from his wife. Apparently, Dr. Gavin came in with a group of men, dis-armed the security team, and kidnapped JR.

Sonia knew something was off the moment her father went out with Kunle and Mr. Rogers. She heard the latter scream and when they came back, she already got dressed and sat down, waiting for them.

"What happened?" She asked softly.

"Sonia... her father began to say."

"Where is my son?" she asked.

"Big sis, please calm down." Kunle pleaded.

"Don't tell me to calm down! Where is JR? What happened to him?"
