It was Valentine's Day. A commercialised and stupid holiday if you ask Hyuga. But! There was a very important factor that changed the boy's view on this holiday. The factor's name was Riko.

Some of the boys on the basketball teams were talking about dates a few days before the holiday and Riko overheard them, mentioning how she didn't have any plans and was probably going to think of new exercises and training schedule. And, by chance, Hyuga overheard that.

So he, as the gentleman he was, decided to take Riko out on a date on Valentine's day. Only so that she won't feel lonely. No other special reasons. Naah. Nope.

Now, the asking out was a tough part. He was shy, scared, wanted to wait for a moment where none of the other boys would be in a hearing range. When he finally stuttered his proposal one night while cleaning the gym with the girl after proposing to stay late and help her, she just accepted without paying much attention. The boy had sighed, thinking it wasn't that difficult after all, and that it really wasn't that big of a deal.

(He didn't know his words and the girl's answer had hit Riko after she had went home, preventing her from sleeping the whole night. How was she so stupid as not to thank and answer Hyuga more properly?!)

When the day finally came, both Hyuga and Riko were trembling with nerves. First there was the problem of how to dress, then where to meet, then where to go, then should Hyuga walk Riko back to her house, then what if her father killed the poor boy, then... Yeah, way too many things to worry over. So the two decided to just roll with it, not overthinking anything, just like they normally did.

In the end the two of them ended up going around a few shops for sports goodies, clothes, shoes, some equipment. Riko also wanted to go to some shop for healthy food. Hyuga wanted to check out some of his favourite warlord figures (of course the girl walking beside him joked that she'll have more figures to brake when he missed shots).

All in all it was a nice date. Was it really a date though? They just did what they normally did, nothing special, food or events. Hyuga reprimanded himself, deciding to invite Riko to a movie. She agreed and they prolonged their date by a visit to the cinema.

The two of them stopped in front of Riko's house when the sun was setting. While they were saying goodbye, commenting how nice their day was, Hyuga looked around, ready to panic if he saw Riko's father. The girl used this opportunity, quickly kissing his cheek and running inside after yelling 'bye'.

Hyuga stood there dumbfounded for good two minutes before turning around and walking down the street. It took him another five minutes to figure that he was walking in the wrong direction.

Yep, this Valentine's day was really nice, his favourite.
