The seconds were ticking away while the puppies ran back and forward with the ball. No one scored, the other team seemed to have suddenly gotten better. And all four of them had gotten quite tired. That was understandable.
But neither team had given up. Not the humans, not the puppies. Everyone wanted to win.
Senshi and Hissori got a few shots at the opposite hoop. But somehow Murasakibara's puppy was always there, jumping high and blocking the ball's path. It seemed like he had something between his owner's blocking skills and Kagami's jumping power. Interesting combination.
And whenever a shot was blocked, the reddish puppy got the chance to attack. He didn't succeed either though, either because of his poor aiming or because he moved slowly. So things kept going like that, the points not changing.
Until Senshi and Hissori were too tired to keep up. That was the difference between puppies who had lived with humans in apartments, and puppies who had grown up on the street. The latter had more stamina.
So when their latest attack failed and the reddish puppy got the ball, Hissori and Senshi couldn't keep up.
And so a basket was scored.
Suddenly the newbies had beaten the old dogs in their own game.
Defending for the last thirty seconds wasn't a problem for Akashi's and Murasakibara's puppies. And when the time was finally over, no one could believe what had happened yet again.
