Today was the day. Seirin versus Rakuzan.
Two years in a row the Winter Cup finale was with these two teams. One was a long term ruler in the basketball world, the other not so much of a newcomer anymore. Seirin had their name out there now, more people knew them, more people expected more of them.
This match was going to be very difficult. For both teams.
Akashi had changed his tactic a bit, just in case. He and Chihiro had trained whenever they could. Their move reading was perfect, the Shut Off plan was ready, working perfectly. That was not to say that the other three Rakuzan players weren't stronger and hadn't trained a lot. No, they were ready for a big fight. They were ready to take their title back.
Seirin had trained, too. A lot. But hadn't found a way to counter Akashi's latest tactic. Kuroko had watched videos, thought, tried, planned, learned. Nothing worked. Kagami was trying to find an answer, too. In the end his only answer was to just get stronger. He was Seirin's ace after all. So he trained nearly all the time.
Everyone trained. They wanted to win again and knew Akashi had something up his sleeve, something more powerful than last year.
And now the time for getting ready was over. They were on the court, facing their opponents. The match was about to begin.
Who was going to win?
