Chapter 33

Hiccup's Point of View

Screams woke me up. I opened my eyes and saw thick smoke. I coughed. I couldn't see anything but smoke.

"Toothless!" I shouted. Nobody answered. I quickly stood up and kept calling Toothless until someone responded.

"Toothless!" I said running to him. He looks weak and he has a lot of bruises that made me worry.

"What's going on?!" I asked. He looked at me worriedly. Then it hit me, our house is on fire.

I ran down stairs with Toothless and saw fire. I opened the door so we can escape then I saw something horrifying.

The whole village is on fire? Who did this? Everyone running around and screaming. Some are crying, some are saving their stuff and some trying to put out the fire.

"Hiccup!" Astrid shouted coughing. The gang ran to me.

"Astrid! What happened?!" I asked panicking.

"We all don't know okay? When we woke up, thick smoke surrounded us." Tuff said covering his nose.

"Who could've done this?" I asked, almost a whisper.

"Let's find that out later, let's save our houses!" Astrid exclaimed. I sighed.

"Wheres the water?" I asked. She pointed to the lake. We rode our dragons and started to collect water.

After that, we went to our own houses and poured water on it. But its no use, the fire is too strong.

"Its not working Hiccup!" Astrid shouted. I nodded. We need some help.

"Hiccup, get down this instant!" Dad shouted. I landed.

"Don't get near the fire. It will kill you." He said looking at me.

"No! I need to help!" I shouted. His eyes widened. He shook his head.

"Its too dangerous Hiccup. I hope you understand." He said running away. I groaned.

"Let him be Hiccup-" Astrid was interrupted by Snotlout and Tuff.

"Guys! Ruff is trapped inside our house!" Tuff said panting and panicking. Our eyes widened in shock.

"What are we waiting for? Let's go!" I shouted and we rode our dragons to their house.

"She's inside." Snot said panting.

"I'm gonna go inside. Stay of all you here." I said. Astrid held my hand tightly, I looked at her, I saw fear in her eyes.

"Be careful..." She said as she let my hands go. I gave her a warm smile and went inside the burning house.
