Greeting the morning light became the hardest activity for Danielle.

Before, it's only a short time until relief and comfort surge through her system, but now she can't feel it anymore.

Her room is cold and dark. There's nothing but her own scent.

There's no Mark.

The depravity of not having her mate for a very long time is getting more serious now.

Even though Mark is not beside her all the time, she can still feel the alpha's traces.

She can still feel at home with the alpha's scent and its remaining presence around her.

Her dorm room is like a storm beneath the bright sun outside.

She felt suffocated, scared, and unsecured.

Sometimes she would only stare blankly at her phone for minutes—if not hours—hesitating to call the alpha or not.

Elle can also feel her omega crawling to take control and search for its alpha whenever the depravity kicks in.

Being classmates is either a wise destiny or a challenge.

Once the other's presence is felt, it sends tingles down their spine that urge them to meet.

Once the eyes meet, it is harder to control.

The sadness and longing equally reflect on their hollow orbs.

"Do you have your water with you?"

Elle instantly looked at the alpha in surprise.

He looks so exhausted. Elle wanted to comfort him.

She shifted her gaze away and nodded.

"Do you have snacks? Are you hungry?", Mark asked again.

"We already ate. I assume you have too."

"Oh, okay, that's good."

There was an awkward silence, and the alpha could only back away.

"I'm going to the company."

Elle nodded again.

Then Mark walked away.
