Luca’s Perspective
The soft hum of the plane filled the air, but my attention was fixated on only one thing—Izzy. She was curled up in the seat beside me, her chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm. Her long lashes rested gently against her cheeks, and her lips were slightly parted as she breathed softly. God, she was beautiful. Innocent. Mine. A small smirk played on my lips as I watched her. The moon goddess had truly blessed me. The saying was true—good things take time. And Izzy… she was the best thing that had ever happened to me. Even though she fought me, even though she resisted, I knew one day she would love me. I would make sure of it.
I had never been the kind of man to fall easily, but with her… it was different. She had me wrapped around her little finger, and she didn’t even realize it yet. My fingers twitched, aching to touch her, to tuck a stray strand of hair behind her ear. But I knew she’d flinch or try to push me away. She wasn’t ready. Not yet. But she would be. One day, she would wake up in my arms willingly. She would look at me with love instead of fear. And when that day came, I would cherish her, worship her, and treat her like the queen she was meant to be. A soft sigh escaped her lips, making my chest tighten. Mine. The flight had been going on for five hours now. I had fallen asleep for a while, but when I woke up, Izzy was still asleep. She must be exhausted from everything that happened. I clenched my jaw, remembering the fear in her eyes, the way she had begged the pilot for help. She still saw me as the villain. But she didn’t know the truth. I was her saviour.
One day, she would understand that. I leaned my head back against the seat, exhaling slowly. We still had two more hours until we landed. I would wake her up when we arrived. But first, I needed to make sure everything was ready for her. I turned my head towards Eric, who was slumped in his seat, snoring lightly.
"Eric, wake up!" I barked. He groaned, shifting slightly but refusing to open his eyes. "Luca, let me sleep."You've slept enough. Now, mind-link someone from the pack to get things ready at my house. I want everything to be perfect for my mate." Eric finally cracked one eye open, giving me an annoyed look. "Luca, don’t worry. Everything will be perfect. Our Luna will definitely like it. Now, let me sleep." My lips twitched at the title. Our Luna. Izzy wasn’t just mine. She was ours. The pack would love her, protect her, and cherish her. Even if she didn’t accept me yet, she was already theirs. "Yeah, yeah, sleep. When we reach, you and I have tons of work to do." Eric groaned again but didn’t argue. He knew I was right. I glanced out the window, watching as the clouds parted, revealing the land below. The plane was beginning its descent. My chest tightened with anticipation. We were almost home
Two Hours Later
The plane touched down smoothly, and I unbuckled my seatbelt, stretching slightly. Eric and Amelia were already moving, stepping out of the jet as they whispered about something. I didn’t care. My focus was on Izzy.
She was still fast asleep, curled up against the seat like a kitten. I smirked. Time to wake up, sweetheart. I leaned in slightly, my breath fanning over her ear. "Izzy, wake up." My voice was soft but firm. She didn’t stir. I smirked again. Looks like I’d have to try harder. Gently, I reached out, brushing a strand of hair away from her face. My fingers lingered against her soft skin. "Izzy, we’re here. Wake up, baby." She mumbled something incoherent, shifting slightly but still not waking up. I chuckled. Who would have thought my mate, the feisty little thing who fought me every step of the way, was such a deep sleeper? Fine. She wanted to play this game? I’d wake her up my way. Without warning, I slipped an arm under her knees and another behind her back, lifting her effortlessly into my arms. That got her attention. Her eyes flew open, wide and startled."W-What—Luca! Put me down!" she yelped, her hands pushing against my chest. I ignored her protests, carrying her out of the jet like she weighed nothing. "I tried waking you up nicely, but you wouldn’t budge," I murmured, smirking down at her. "So you just picked me up like I’m some doll?!" she huffed, her cheeks flushing with anger. God, she was adorable when she was mad. "Pretty much." I shrugged. Her glare could have set me on fire. "You’re unbelievable!" she snapped, wiggling in my arms. I tightened my grip. "Careful, Izzy. You don’t want me to drop you." She froze, her arms instinctively wrapping around my neck. I grinned. "That’s better." Her scowl deepened, but she didn’t let go. As we stepped out onto the tarmac, the cool night air wrapped around us. The sky was dark, the moon shining brightly above. My pack members stood in the distance, waiting for us. Eric and Amelia were already talking to them, making sure everything was in order. I turned my gaze back to Izzy, who was still glaring at me, her arms stubbornly locked around my neck.
