Isabelle's Perspective

Everything had been going smoothly for the past few days. Luca left the mansion every day, and whenever I asked where he was going, he only said he was meeting his family. Strange. I knew he was hiding something, but I didn’t push him too much. I had learned that Luca only revealed things when he wanted to. But today was different. Today, he had promised to take me outside. I had been waiting for this moment ever since he first brought me here. The thought of finally stepping out of this place, even if just for a while, filled me with excitement. I had nothing else to do while waiting for Luca to return, so I decided to visit the library. Since I loved reading—especially fantasy novels—I figured he might have something interesting there. A good book would help pass the time. After finishing lunch in the grand dining room, I made my way to the library. But before that, I couldn't help but think about what happened earlier today.

Flashback

Luca stood near the closet, buttoning his shirt. His sharp blue eyes locked onto mine as he spoke. "Isabelle, babe, I’m going out. When I come back, we’ll go outside." "Really?" I asked, my heart racing with excitement. "Yes, kitten. Like I told you yesterday—I will give you some freedom, but only if you behave according to my rules." I rolled my eyes but nodded. "Yeah, I remember." He paused, looking at me with an unreadable expression. "I thought about something," he said. "About what?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. He smirked slightly. "I’ve decided to let you roam around the mansion. I can’t keep you locked in our room all the time."
My eyes widened in shock. "Really, Luca? Really??" "Yes, love," he said, smiling. I didn’t think for a second before running into his arms. Wrapping my arms around him, I hugged him tightly. "Thank you, Luca," I whispered against his chest, genuinely happy for the first time in days.

Luca's Perspective

"That was new, Luca," my wolf, Zydus, commented. "Yeah, Zydus, I’m shocked that she hugged me," I admitted, holding her in my arms for a few extra seconds before pulling away. Just when she thought she had total freedom, I spoke again, breaking the silence. "I will let you roam, but under one condition." She lifted her head from my shoulder and looked up at me, her expression cautious. "What condition?" I smirked. "You can go anywhere in the mansion except for three places—the fifth floor, outside the mansion, and the back side of the mansion. That includes the lawns. And Isabelle, I mean it. If you step foot in any of those places, you will face consequences." She swallowed hard, her throat moving as she gulped. "And let me tell you something else," I added. "Now what?" she asked, exasperated. "When you were sleeping, I locked all the windows and doors, and I removed all the telephones from the house." Her eyes widened in shock. "Why would you do that?" she scoffed. I smirked.

"Because I know exactly how smart you are. If I let my guard down even for a second, you’ll find a way to escape." She huffed, crossing her arms. "Did I try to escape?" she asked, her voice innocent. "No," I admitted, slipping one hand into my pocket. "Then why are you doing this?" she asked again. I stepped closer, looking down at her. "Because I don’t trust you yet. Just do as I say, or you can stay locked in our room. I wouldn’t mind." Her eyes widened slightly before she quickly shook her head. "No, no, Luca. I promise I’ll behave." I smirked. "Good girl." Then, I placed my hands around her waist and pulled her closer. "Now, where’s my kiss?" I whispered against her ear.

She sighed. "God, you’re so tall, Luca. How am I supposed to reach you?" I chuckled at her adorable pout. She looked down at her sandals, then stepped on my foot to elevate herself. As she got closer, I could see the hesitation in her eyes. "Mate is so small," I told Zydus, amused. "She’s innocent, Luca. She doesn’t belong in our world," Zydus murmured. "But she will," I replied. "The Moon Goddess destined us for each other."You know, Zydus, sometimes you’re right."Shut up, sucker," my wolf grumbled.
