Luca perspective

I groaned as a voice echoed in my head. “Wake up, idiot.” My head pounded, and I felt like I was trapped in darkness. I tried to move, but my body felt heavy, like I was stuck in thick mud. “Ugh, my head,” I muttered. “Where am I?” “You’re stuck in your head, stupid,” the voice responded. I recognized that voice instantly. “Zydus? Is that you?” A figure emerged from the black void. My wolf, Zydus, walked toward me, his dark fur blending into the surrounding darkness. “Good guess, idiot,” he said, his usual sarcasm intact. I frowned. “What do you mean I’m stuck in my head? And why is everything around me pitch black?” Zydus tilted his head. “Do you remember anything?” i tried to think back. “I was fighting rogues,” I said slowly. “And then… everything blacked out.” “Yeah, well, you’re in a coma,” Zydus stated flatly. I blinked. “What the fuck?!” “Yeah, Luca,” Zydus sighed. “We have to wake up. Our mate is all alone. And I think she’s going to run again. You need to figure out how to wake up.” I clenched my fists, frustration building inside me. Isabelle was alone? I needed to get back to her. As I struggled to think of a way out, another voice echoed in the darkness.

“Hello, my child.” I turned sharply, my body instantly tensing. A woman stepped forward, and for the first time since being trapped in this void, I saw light. She was breathtaking—the only woman besides my mate who could leave me speechless. Dressed in a long, flowing white gown, she looked like she had stepped right out of a legend. “Who are you?” I demanded. “And why are you calling me child?” I crossed my arms. “Don’t you see? I’m a full-grown man.” The woman smiled, her eyes filled with an ancient wisdom. “My child, I know everything about you. I am Selene, the Moon Goddess. I am your creator.” My eyes widened. “What?” I stared at her for a moment before bursting into laughter. “Sure. And if you’re a goddess, then I must be the king of the whole world.” I turned to Zydus. “Are you hearing this?” But when I looked at him, his head was bowed low in submission. My stomach twisted. Zydus never bowed to anyone.

Selene’s voice was firm but gentle. “Luca, I am the creator of all werewolves. Your wolf recognizes me because he knows who I am.” I swallowed hard, realization hitting me like a punch. “What are you doing in my head?” I asked. Her expression turned serious. “I am here to warn you, Luca. You are going to face danger in the coming weeks. You must be ready.” A cold shiver ran down my spine. “What kind of danger?” “A war is coming,” she said. “Your enemies are close. Closer than you think. Some of those you trust will betray you. You must be careful. And most importantly, you must protect your mate. They are coming for both of you.” My mind reeled. A war? Betrayal? My jaw tightened. “If I’m in danger, don’t keep me in the dark. Tell me everything.” Selene shook her head. “I cannot. Time will reveal the truth. But I chose you to be the king of all werewolves for a reason. You have the strength to face this.” My heart pounded. “And Isabelle? Why are they coming for her?” Selene gave me a knowing smile. “Because she is a part of you. Without her, you are nothing. She is your other half, and you must protect her at all costs.” I clenched my fists. I would never let anything happen to Isabelle.

But there was one thing I needed to know. “Why a human mate? Why not someone from my kind?” Selene’s eyes sparkled with something I couldn’t quite understand. “Everything I do has a reason. You possess abilities that will benefit your mate. And in time, she will be beneficial for you as well.” My brow furrowed. “What do you mean?” Instead of answering, she suddenly changed the subject. “Look, child, your mate is crying for you.” I stiffened. “Where is she? I can’t see her!” Selene smiled softly. “It is time to wake up, Luca. Your mate is waiting for you. Trust the process, and you will understand everything in time.” “Wait—” Before I could say another word, the darkness around me shifted. My body felt weightless, like I was falling through a deep void. Everything blurred, and just as suddenly as it had appeared, the darkness swallowed me whole once again. A dull throbbing pain spread through my head as I slowly regained consciousness. I groaned, trying to blink my eyes open, but the bright lights in the room made it difficult.
