Emily's POV

I sat in my room, mind racing with thoughts about the plan. I couldn't wait for things to finally fall into place. I had been waiting for this moment for far too long. Katherine, one of my trusted omegas, was going to help me, and I knew I could count on her. I quickly sent a mindlink to her, "Katherine came to my room," I said, my voice sharp and impatient. A few moments later, she replied, "Coming, ma'am." I stood up and straightened myself as she entered. "Can I come in, my lady?" she asked respectfully. "Yeah, you can," I replied, nodding at her. She was always so formal, but I didn’t mind. I needed someone I could trust, and Katherine had proven herself loyal to me. I walked over to the window, watching the sky as I began explaining my plan. "Listen, Katherine, I have a proposition for you. You're my trusted maid, so that's why I chose you for this work. But listen to me—don't let anyone know about it, especially your alpha."

My voice was firm, my eyes meeting hers to make sure she understood the seriousness of the task. "My lady, you can trust me," she said, her voice filled with assurance. "Now listen," I continued, "all you have to do is go to your alpha's house and open one of the ground floor windows." She hesitated for a moment, clearly confused. "Ma'am, why are the windows closed there?" I turned to face her, frustration bubbling up inside me. "Don't ask me so many questions," I snapped, trying to keep my voice steady. "Due to the rogues, the security is tight there." I made up an excuse, not wanting to tell her too much. I had to keep things hidden for now, especially the truth about Luca’s mate. She still seemed unsure but nodded. "My lady, if security is tight there, how am I going inside?" I took a deep breath, steadying myself. "Well, I will bake a cake for the guards and one for the alpha. All you have to do is give them to the guards, and they will let you in." Katherine seemed to accept that and nodded, her expression respectful.

"Okay, ma'am."And listen," I added, my voice lowering to a more serious tone, "if you do your work properly, I'll give you a good amount of money. Now go." I waved her off, a sigh of frustration escaping my lips. Everything was coming together now. Soon, that mutt—Luca—would be out of my life, and we would live happily.

Isabelle's POV

The last few days have been so boring. I had nothing to do, nothing to distract me from my thoughts. After the incident at the mall, Luca had told his sister to stay at his family house for a few days. It felt like he was distancing himself from me, though I knew he was busy with meetings. But I couldn't help it—I was alone. And I was bored. Aurora came to visit me every day, which I appreciated. She was the only person I could really talk to, the only one I felt comfortable with. But even her presence didn’t completely fill the emptiness I felt inside. The truth was, I was starting to miss Luca's attention. I didn't realize it at first, but now I couldn't ignore it anymore. I missed the way he used to be so close to me, the way he cared for me. I hated to admit it, but I was falling for him. His charm was getting to me, and I knew it wasn’t a good sign. I sighed, resting my chin on my hand as I poked at the food on my plate during lunch. The quiet of the dining room felt suffocating, and I couldn't stop thinking about Luca. Just as I was trying to focus on my meal, I noticed him walking by, heading toward his office. My heart skipped a beat. The instant I saw him, my legs moved on their own. I stood up from the chair, quickly walking toward him. My hand reached out, grabbing his wrist gently.

It was such a simple gesture, but it felt so right. It was like I couldn’t let him walk away without holding on to him. As I touched his arm, I felt a rush of warmth and longing. I didn't want to be alone anymore. I wanted him with me.
But even as I held onto him, I knew things were changing. And I didn't know how to stop them.

Luca's POV

The past few days had been a blur of constant activity. Rogues had been attacking different pack borders, and I had been dealing with it every day. The urgency of the situation left little room for anything else. Meetings with other pack alphas, strategizing, and making sure my people were safe were taking up all my time. But above all, my priority was keeping my mate, Isabelle, safe. Being the king of all werewolves wasn’t easy. The weight of my responsibilities was heavier than any other alpha's. It was draining, and I felt it more with each passing day. Every decision I made affected not just my pack but the entire werewolf community. Today was no different. I was walking to my office, my mind already occupied with the problems that awaited me there. As I moved down the hall, I felt a sudden, familiar tug on my hand.
