Luca’s POV

"Alpha, what are you going to do now?" Eric asked, his voice laced with concern. I clenched my jaw, my eyes still fixed on the bloodied piece of cloth in my hands. Isabelle’s blood. My mate’s blood. The sight made my heart ache, and my rage boiled at the same time. "What do you think I’m going to do?" I snapped, my voice sharp with anger. Eric hesitated for a second before his eyes widened in realization. "Don’t tell me you’re going to surrender to that bastard, Luca!" I let out a deep breath, trying to keep my emotions in check. "I have no choice," I muttered. "If I have to save my mate, I’ll pay any price."

I could feel Camellia's gaze on me. "Alpha, we won’t let you do such a thing," she said firmly. I turned to her, my eyes flashing with a warning. "Don’t tell me what to do, Camellia. Stay in your limits." My voice was dangerously low, laced with fury. "I will do whatever it takes to save my mate. That bastard gave me 24 hours, and I don’t intend to waste any time." I stood up, running a hand through my hair as frustration built inside me. "Stay out of this." Camellia opened her mouth to argue, but I shot her a glare that made her swallow her words. I turned to Eric. "You’re in charge of the pack while I’m gone. Stay alert." Eric sighed and nodded, but before I could leave, he spoke again. "Camellia, can you step outside for a moment? I need to talk to Alpha alone." Camellia hesitated but eventually left, closing the door behind her.

"What is it, Eric?" I asked impatiently. "Come on, Luca. Stop acting reckless. We need a plan!" Eric’s voice was urgent. "You’re the king of all werewolves. You can’t just walk into a trap like this. I know you care about Isabelle—we all do—but running in blindly won’t save her. We need to strike back smartly." I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my palms. I knew he was right. But my mate’s life was at stake. "Look, I get it," I growled. "But what if it were Amelia? What if she were kidnapped? What would you do?" Eric's face hardened, his lips pressing into a thin line. He had no answer. "That’s what I thought," I muttered.

Eric exhaled sharply before pulling something out of my office drawer. "At least take this tracker with you." He held up a small device. "Hide it somewhere in your clothes so we can track your location and help you when the time is right." I grabbed the tracker and shoved it into my pocket. "Fine," I muttered. Without wasting another second, I stormed out of my office, shifted into my wolf, and took off running. The forest blurred past me as my paws hit the ground with force. The wind howled in my ears, but my mind was focused on one thing—Isabelle. I ran for hours, pushing myself to the limit, until I finally reached the location Dave had mentioned. Shifting back, I quickly moved behind a tree and put on my clothes. My eyes scanned my surroundings.

The area was deep in the forest, surrounded by massive ancient trees that blocked out most of the light. The air was thick with the scent of damp earth and rotting leaves. It was eerily quiet. Something was off. "Dave!" I called out, my voice echoing through the trees. "Where the fuck are you? Come out!" The silence stretched on, pressing down on me like a heavy weight. My heartbeat pounded in my ears as I strained to listen. Then, a rustling sound broke the silence. Leaves crackled, twigs snapped, and suddenly, ten figures emerged from the darkness. They were dressed in dark clothes, their faces hidden behind masks. They moved with a deadly grace, surrounding me in a perfect circle.

I clenched my fists. "Where the hell is my mate?" My wolf, Zydus, growled through me. A familiar voice chuckled. "Now, now, where will you go, King Luca? Or should I just call you… Luca?" My wolf roared in fury. "Did this bastard just address me by name?" "Where’s Isabelle?!" I snarled, my vision tinted red with rage. Dave finally stepped forward, smirking. "Control your anger, Zydus," he mocked. "You have a death wish, Dave," I growled. "I can rip you and your warriors apart with my canines."
