At pack house

Amelia pov

I was sitting in the packhouse lounge, flipping through some files, when I heard the sound of footsteps approaching. I looked up to see Camellia walking in, her face set in determination. "Amelia, is Luca back from the trip? I need to give him some information regarding rogues," she said, her voice serious. I nodded. "Yes, Camellia, he's back with his—" Before I could finish, we were interrupted by none other than Emily. She barged into the lounge, her heels clicking loudly against the floor. "Is Luca back?" she asked, flipping her hair over her shoulder. "I have to go meet him. I bet he's missing me." I rolled my eyes internally. This girl and her never-ending obsession with Alpha. She was always acting like she had some special place in his life, despite knowing the truth.

Camellia, however, wasn’t as patient as me. She crossed her arms and glared at Emily. "Drop your shit, Emily, and don't you dare go there," she warned. Emily smirked, clearly enjoying pushing Camellia’s buttons. "Oh? And why not? Are you his mom?" she said mockingly, laughing at her own words. Camellia’s expression darkened. "Don't give me that attitude, Emily. You know damn well I'm the highest-ranked warrior in the pack. I can beat the shit out of you if I want to," she said through clenched teeth. Emily scoffed and stepped closer. "And I am Luca’s mate and your future Luna. I’ll have the power to exile you from the pack if I want to." She smirked, tilting her chin up in arrogance. "You know what, Camellia? Fuck off." I knew this was getting out of hand. If I didn’t step in, the two of them would tear each other apart. "Hey, guys, calm down," I said, getting up from my seat. I turned to Emily.

"It’s really not a good idea for you to go there. Luca is going to be mad at you." Emily laughed, completely unfazed. "Nah, he won’t be mad at me. I’m his mate." At that, I couldn’t hold it in anymore—I burst into laughter. Camellia joined me, shaking her head. I mind-linked Camellia, "Is she serious? Our Luna is already at Luca’s penthouse. If Emily thinks she’s going to be our Luna, she’s completely delusional." Camellia responded with a mental chuckle. "Yeah, you’re right, Amelia. She’s out of her mind. After finishing some work here at the packhouse, I’m going to Luca’s. I’ll let him know about this mess." After that, Camellia turned on her heel and left, leaving me alone with Emily. "You know, Emily," I started, trying to keep my voice calm, "you should really start looking for your real mate. Whoever he is, I doubt he’d be happy knowing you’re wasting your time chasing after Luca." I gave her a pointed look.

"You only like Luca because of his Alpha title and because he’s handsome." Emily narrowed her eyes at me, her lips curling in irritation. "You don’t know shit about me," she snapped. "Now don’t waste my time. I have to get ready." And with that, she spun around and stormed off to her room. I let out a sigh and leaned back against the couch, shaking my head in disbelief. "Is she serious?" my wolf, Daisy, growled in my mind. "She’s hopeless, Daisy," I replied, rolling my eyes. "What can we do?" I heard my wolf scoff. "It’s her loss. She’s going to regret this one day." I smirked. "Yeah, she definitely will."

Emily's POV

I had waited long enough. I wasn’t going to waste another second. After an hour, I finally made my way to Luca’s mansion, my heart pounding with excitement. I missed him. It had been too long since I last saw him, and now that he was back, no one could stop me from meeting him. As I approached the ginormous gates of the mansion, I saw a group of warriors standing guard. Their expressions were serious, but I didn’t care. I stepped forward confidently, folding my arms across my chest. "Warriors, let me in!" I demanded. One of the guards, a tall and muscular man, shook his head. "Apologies, Emily, but we have Alpha’s orders. We can’t let you in." I narrowed my eyes at him, my frustration rising. "It’s my order to let me in. Do you even understand what you’re saying? I am Luca’s mate! If you refuse me entry, you will suffer the consequences for keeping his mate from seeing him." I smirked, knowing my words carried weight.
